  • So I got the CD on Saturday and have listened to it twice through since then :) Very cool, you are an amazing guitarist! I wasn't sure what my wife would think, since it's not really her thing, but she enjoyed it as well ;) Thanks for the quick send and for signing it too! BTW - do you make any of the minus tracks available on iTunes? Not that I'm near your caliber, but it would give me something fun to play around with. Thanks!

  • @TheFanglyfish Still have not mixed out minus tracks yet. It is just bass and drums though. Glad your wife can tolerate it! My wife will play it sometimes when she is working around the house and wants to get a lot of stuff done, it makes her work faster!

  • @MichaelJDowdle Haha, I'll have to try that with my wife ;) I did notice that it's hard to listen to in the car because I kept speeding up! Definitely makes me excited to get back into playing when I'm done with school. Do you do any shows up in Idaho? We saw you up at BYU-I a few years back, but it would be awesome to see you playing your jazz/rock material.

  • @TheFanglyfish No plans at the moment. I would love to take the guys out on the road but it isn't feasible at this point. Thanks for your support!

  • Hi Michael

What material did you use for recording ?

  • @backtothetone On thisvideo I am just recording into the Mac with a Line 6 guitar modeling program. On the CD I used Fenders and various secret sauces. The P90s are cool though. Real barky.

  • @MichaelJDowdle

Did you use a Line 6 Pod Studio UX1 or something like that ? guitar directly into the UX1 ?

  • @backtothetone Yes I did. Simple and sweet. Amps are the best but sometimes it works with the software stuff too.

  • @MichaelJDowdle

yes :-) i think it's a good way for recording, simple and good results.

  • I like the studio (house) look, especially since I can brag to everyone that I've been there.Oh, and my head is still bobbing to Mikey's Bluesy Shuffle.

  • @myutahcountyrealtor Spoken like a realtor! Thanks a lot!

  • Ok I get it now. Yeah the guitar playing IS amazing and the compositions magical and all, but I think you just want to show off your house. One song, one room. Since you're in Utah I'm expecting a song in the basement some time soon.

  • @rsolorio Well... I'm trying to make each vid have a different look. All I am doing is sitting around anyway. BTW the studio version of these songs are a lot of fun, CD coming soon.

  • Michael you're the BEST!!!!!Let me ask you what amp are you using on this song?

    Greetings from Hungary!

  • @LPFan3118 THANKS!!! Actually this tone is a "software Soldano amp model" direct into the computer. It is all about gain and tone. You can actually get a pretty good tone in a lot of different ways.

  • Jaden and I absolutely love this one, (actually we love them all) so much fun to hear you play. Thanks for providing years of enjoyment for our family. Our children have fallen asleep to you music for years. Jaden has some new songs we hope to have you help with. Some of her songs that you have played on have been getting some local play. Hoping for some new great stuff in the future. Love it love it love it !!

  • @wqcman1st Thanks a lot. Glad I could help the insomnia. Let me know, I'd be happy to help.

  • Mike, at the risk of sounding like a pest..I would love to be able to play rythm with you on this track when you play it at my birthday party at Snowbird. Would you be willing to give me the chords / melody so I could work with Mark and make it a goal to accompany you with my guitar? I understand either way. Best, Tom.

  • @tzdunich I'll send you a PDF as soon as I put it together.

Bring your gear to the party too. MD

  • @MichaelJDowdle Very cool. Thanks Mike!

  • Mike, can't get enough of this....just enjoying this tune again with my musical friends at the office. We are all blown away by this tune. My wife has booked you for my 40th birthday party at Snowbird! Very excited to meet you and have you play for my friends and family. PLEASE make sure and play this tune!

  • @tzdunich I will. Thanks Tom

  • Please keep the blues coming MIke! You have a very unique, lyrical way of the

notes coming out in a true "blusey" fashion, but very non-traditional.

Hope to meet you sometime soon, or even hire you for a private event?

Are you rates for something like that on your web site?

  • @tzdunich Thanks, I will. You can contact me through the web site for info on rates.

  • Mike, you truly inspire me.

I am a student of Mark Veldevere's. Couldn't make your last workshop at Summerhays, and was very bummed about it.

Your chord intonations and jazzy riffs in this make the perfect "blues salad"

Please put this track on a CD. Hope to meet you someday.

    Tom

  • @tzdunich Thanks Tom.

Mark is a great guy! I'm sure there will be more clinics in the future. Glad you like the track! I love playing the Blues. I don't do enough of it.

    Another winner bud !

  • Thanks! But I am relaxed! I just sit in my studio and chill. It is hard to play some of this stuff though. That is the point, to be challenged. MD
