The young male want to dance with Ieva, so they sneak into the house next door to dance. When they go back they meet Ieva's angry mother and he tells her that they will be together no matter what.
LOL. His voice bugs ME because I'm used to Loituma (although I listen to this one more) singing it, but I think this guy's voice gives the sense of how old this song really is.

Check the story from wikipedia:
Actually there's a guy telling how he takes a girl called Eve dancing,
though the mother tries to keep her home. It's a bit rowdy song - listen the man's voice...
cocky & sure of himself, how he moves eve on the dance floor,
& after the dance,
there's a hint of a possibly bolder 'move' (=sytkyyttee ~ (engine)ticking), too.
-the lang. is so vague there: it could be dancing, kissing.. or more(!)

@FleskTheHedgehog > The song (text) is sung by a male:
The young male want to dance with Ieva, so they sneak into the house next door to dance. When they go back they meet Ieva's angry mother and he tells her that they will be together no matter what.

If you got Spotify you're lucky. Pauli Räsänen's version of Ieva's Polkka is available there.

I love the meaning and polka music yet his voice just...bugs me...and I'm Finnish haha.

LOL. His voice bugs ME because I'm used to Loituma (although I listen to this one more) singing it, but I think this guy's voice gives the sense of how old this song really is.

I like this version even better than the Loituma version. :)
