  • I like both EC and BB!

I've the "Riding With The King" CD and I was very impressed how the King and the God played the blues with soul and passion.

I'm running a black Squier Strat with a set of Gold Lace Sensors through a Digitech GNX3000. The "BBThrill" preset lets me to nail BB's signature tone without problem.

  • @strawer Me too it was a great album. I like the lace sensors - they're good for blusey stuff.

  • i keep hearing coments saying lace pups sound sterile, they say that about emg dg20 dave gilmours pups as well. its all bull. if lace sensors sound crap or sterile, why does clapton play them and many other artists like buddy guy etc.

  • I like them, i have another strat with texas specials and they both sound great to my ears - different but play with the tone controls and the amp settings and you get a really good range of sounds

  • i got a set of fender lace golds, pots wired and with a push push switch, to make 7 tones. all mint condition from ebay. i won them in the auction for £70 yes 70 quid. well worth it and better than fender stock pups that cost more. your need to adjust the pickups height to give you that sweet spot. if you get it right, they sound great. great for blues clapton , knopler and hendrix sounds.

  • lace,..... not my opinion of good pick ups, ,...E 918624 USA, American Standard, bought it for my son, I can hear the difference, the most importent thing, ...can it hold tuned. Damian ,DEnmarkl

  • Not sure of your question - what i think you mean is does it stay in tune, if so the answe is yes as its standard fender bridge. Like all pick ups lace sensors are down to personal preference - they do smooth and sleazy blues, less good on traditional glassy strat sounds - depends what you want really - i like em for blues

  • sounds great!

  • thanks - like yours too!

  • @itsloudman Are you using the Clapton Mid-boost in your guitar?

  • did you notice a big difference between your stock pickups and your lace sensors (im thinking of getting a set)....great sound and great playing

  • the lace sensors are less spiky and have more depth - if you add some distortion they get nice and dirty but still quite clear in a funny sort of way - great blues sound. I have another strat with texas specials and they're quite different. Recommended. These are all gold, you can get blue and red too. Glad you enjoyed the vid.

  • my dad just got me a black fender strat just like yours like 30 mins ago...i love it..

  • enjoy it!

  • That's a beautiful sound you got going there man, very raunchy blues indeed. Great style btw.

Those pups are awesome thru your amp.

  • Thanks Geo - glad you liked it

  • In the uk the clapton strats with lace sensors are around $1700 used - they're probably cheaper in the us. The pickups don't really distort, they're softer with more sustain than normal strat pickups. The best sound is rolling off the tone on position 2and using a decent boost with some compression.

  • Hey, I just got 1999 Claptons blackie.

    I got couple Questions.

    How much is your guitar?

Is your shit has blocked tremolo bar( I think thats how it's supposed to be.

Are your pick ups distore when you put guitar on max loudness on clean chanel?

    Nice playing.
