@sparbaroku Yes I use to post on there all the time under the user names Josh31 and Freebs. I was the very first person to the best of my knowledge to twin charge the Jbody as I did this back in 2005. I still check back on their every once in a while and always have PMs of people asking me questions on this set up. I have been out of the Jbody scene now for about 4 years now though, but since my sister is using this car I can just look on it when I need to.
@Freebs1 Cool man ill look for your posts. Ive seen the RK one around before i just never knew why the OEM one was always on there. guess Sunfires just werent designed to have a traditional spoiler. lol thanks for finally answering that though!
@sparbaroku Also for the two spoiler question. I bought it new from a dealership back in 2003 and they had put RK sport body kits on 10 sunfires which also came with the OEM wing. Than when this blue car was written off and I transferred the body kit to the new one (which is silver) I took the OEM wing off and just had the RK sport wing on and it actually looked weird so I put it back on and left the 2 spoilers.
Back in the day people wondered where it went since you don't get many sunfires making over 400hp and pulling away on corvettes and vipers... Anyway this was 4 years ago... My sister is now driving it and I have moved on to a nice 2009 Evo :)
@Buick97Custom Yep. She had a 2001 Cavalier that I had put a GM supercharger kit on it but it was kind of falling apart body wise so I got the twin charged one up and running and gave it to her. But its not this blue one, the Twin Charged engine is now in a sliver Sunfire but the engine is still going strong.
is there any advantage to twin charging it? i know some cars are like that from the factory, but they alternate between the two, so they get a wider powerband.
@pepene93 the only advantage would be low end torque from the S/c and then mid to high end torque (HP) from the turbo.However a turbo sized to the engine with a good flowing manifold and exhaust would spool quick enough and be alot more efficient at making power per psi of boost.
you are right,the golf in and of itself is'nt obscur,but that particular model is(that is the only car I've ever heard of that comes twincharged).
@Arayanrevenge that depends on the size of the turbo. if i remember correctly, that engine makes well over 200hp. that would mean a huge turbo compared to the engine. i dont think its possible to make that not lag like hell

@Arayanrevenge thats not true. a honda engine, especially the most popular ones for getting a turbo make no more than 150hp. to make 400, you'd need to have over 20psi of boost. that would cause lag at low RPM
@pepene93 ummm,no.This is'nt the early 90's. The 2 liter engines we use these days make over 200 whp with a tune and header.Depending on the size turbo you do not need 20 psi to make 400,certainly you don't need a turbo large enough to cause bad lag.

@Kent133 Not plastic, but CF, aluminum spoilers. Will create drag, yes, but cars that put them on, hopefully, will be used for more than drag racing. Spoilers are useful in Rallycross, solo, most scca events. They have to be as big as they are beacause the most airodynamic efficient area is the front. The rear of a vehicle doesnt expierence as much wind resistance. You are supposed to pair spoilers with canards, front diffusers.. rear deffusers. Not on theyre own. : ]

I had a Eaton M45 supercharger kit from GM installed on the car pretty much since i bought it new... than when warrenty was up I saw a twincharged cobalt and decided I would try it.. so i built a turbo kit and routed it from the turbo threw the intercooler up into the supercharger and had alky injection spraying before the supercharger since there was no way to put an intercooler on the supercharger. it put down 350whp @15psi (into the engine) with a built engine on 91 octane gas and 8.5:1 comp
Its been proven than a BONE STOCK sunfire has more overall horsepower, and torque, than a BONE STOCK civic. If honda's gotten better over the years, wich is has, then its a guarentee the sunfires up untill 05 would be better too. the 2.4L sunfires i mean. If not beat them, be preeeeeeeeeetty close.

If anything they're low set lightweight aluminum They don't add much downforce, Just enough to keep the back from spinning out. BTW I'm not some internet know it all either. I build circuit cars.

@Kent133 Not plastic, but CF, aluminum spoilers. Will create drag, yes, but cars that put them on, hopefully, will be used for more than drag racing. Spoilers are useful in Rallycross, solo, most scca events. They have to be as big as they are beacause the most airodynamic efficient area is the front. The rear of a vehicle doesnt expierence as much wind resistance. You are supposed to pair spoilers with canards, front diffusers.. rear deffusers. Not on theyre own. : ]

It would pull on most cars... 2700lbs.. 420whp .. makes for a quick car no matter what it is.. and for a 16-17 year old that was a pretty quick car... I had a Eaton M45 supercharger kit from GM installed on the car pretty much since i bought it new... than when warrenty was up I saw a twincharged cobalt and decided I would try it.. so i built a turbo kit and routed it from the turbo threw the intercooler up into the supercharger and had alky injection spraying before the supercharger since there was no way to put an intercooler on the supercharger. it put down 350whp @15psi (into the engine) with a built engine on 91 octane gas and 8.5:1 comp

Its been proven than a BONE STOCK sunfire has more overall horsepower, and torque, than a BONE STOCK civic. If honda's gotten better over the years, wich is has, then its a guarentee the sunfires up untill 05 would be better too. the 2.4L sunfires i mean. If not beat them, be preeeeeeeeeetty close.
