@WC9456 But then you lose the ability to tune the pipes to the optimal frequency to allow a pressure wave to travel the length of the pipe then back up to the cylinder to push any unburned fuel back into the cylinder at a given level of RPM. Its usually tuned to the rpm level that produces the most torque or horsepower depending on manufacturer.
