This is a pretty basic question, I need the answer real bad, real quick. I just started with the movie editing stuff, and I have a project that I need to finish quickly, I have to know:
How do you zoom in, zoom out, to certain areas, for example, you want to zoom in to a face like what you did in 1:34, to give some emphasis on the person.
It depends on what software you're using. If you're using Premiere like what I used, then you go to the properties window, and twirl down the motion option, and where it says scale, click on the stopwatch. Then move the timeline to the right, and then scale it up to about 200%. You'd also have to click the stopwatch for the position property as well.
It's hard to explain with just words. It's easier to just show you.
To echo others, this is one of the best slideshows I've seen. I would love to see detail tutorial on many parts of the video, but what particularly was cool was the sequence from 4:13 to 4:18. How did you do that? That was really AWESOME.
I used Photoshop and After Effects to make that sequence with the many poloroids, and it took alot of tweaking to get it just right.
What I would recommend for you would to get "Creating Motion Graphics" by Trish and Chris Meyer. This book will teach you how to use After Effects. I've bought many books on After Effects, and this one is the most useful.
You'd also have to learn a few things in Photoshop as well.
Thanks for the recommendations and the prompt response. By the way (don't reply if its too personal) but how much would you and others in the business charge for a similar slideshow?
This is one of the best slideshows I have seen. I wanted to know how you did the polaroid shots, in the beginning...was that done in after effects? If so how? Please let me know, thank you!
I made the poloroid shots in Photoshop by downloading a sample polaroid online, downloading the wooden wallpaper as a background, then put in some shadows and lighting effects all in Photoshop.
I used Adobe Photoshop to prepare the pictures, Adobe After Effects Pro to do some of the special effects, and Adobe Premiere Pro for most of the work.
I have these programs if you want them. Do you use a mac or a PC?
Hi,
Is there any chance to download this template for tutorial use from you?

I don't charge anything. I let people give me whatever they want to give me.
I don't know what others would charge.
If I want to do a wedding slideshow, then I'll do it. But if I don't want to, then I won't do it.

Then I animated it in After Effects.

Thanks in advance!
