I love this film and think that it's one of the most overlooked and underrated Fantasy films since 2000 (along with Stardust and The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen). Visual effects were decent. Nicole Kidman was stunning and very beautiful villainess. Dakota Blue Richards and Daniel Craig were great too. Hope they'll make a sequel

This is an amazing fan trailer. Its so well done, i applaude you. I didn't mind the film for what it was but you have the spooky atmosphere better. People have the right to believe in what they wish, many religious people are allowed to preach and teach kids that God is real, so why can't he teach kids that God isn't real?
I see this movie as more "PRO-Metaphysics" than anti-religion. I say, for those who wish to evolve their consciousness. This movie is for you! I love the movie. It makes you question...What if? What if we could fly in another dimension? What if we could see our animal spirits in another parallel world? I dare you question your reality. :)

The majority of it is Fantasy, based on real facts yes, but still fantasy. I mean Stories become more and more fantasy the longer they are told. I bet there WAS a big flood, but nothing like whats in the bible, but something had to inspire the writters, but they just exagerated.

Well, in my edition of "Northern lights" it says that Mrs. Coulter has dark hair (just at the end of chapter 3). But it is the Spanish version and it could be a wrong translation...
Yeh Mrs Coulter's hair is dark, its described when she takes that boy from the market place isnt it? Its Lyra's hair that is dirty blonde. It doesn't matter though, think how much detail they changed in the Lord of the Rings and that was still bloody brilliant xx :)
Or rather; Golden compass is the US version of THE ORIGINAL Northern Lights. I dont see why they hasd to change it. maybe stupidly so it fits in with "subtle Knife" and "amber spyglas" seeing as is descriptive then noun.. sheesh Who cares.. sorry that my rant (and only thing Im annoyed about so far) from this movie. :o Some actors are really well chosen, like the ones playing Lyra and Serafina. Lord Asriel looks accurate too. Lee or Mrs. Coulter suck, though.
