with your assertion that water is wet as truth, i can ask if the existence of water is true... if you cant prove that water actually exists then you can not prove it is wet. what if your brain is actually in a jar somewhere and being stimulated with electrodes creating the illusion of an artificial substance that we, in your delusional mind, call water?
If water is an illusion the word water still intends to describe it. In other words the word was invented to describe what we perceive to be water (I suppose technically the water doesn't have to really be real water, just anything we perceive to be water) wetness would also be technically defined as any perception of water like wetness regardless of actual witnesses. I don't think (nor do I intend to imply) that thought can be separated from the emotion... in fact I think emotion is a mechanism the brain uses to categorize and prioritize everything it processes. What I'm suggesting is that chains of thought and perception can be separated from primitive and conditioned rubbish by breaking the obvious old self interested links, and connecting the chain to new links of more pure understanding...ie. a devotion to principle.
Put in other words, the mind sees the world, and discovers truth, through a lense of brain matter. Crude nature and arbitrary conditioning create distortions (rose coloring for example) in that lense... it is my argument that we can apply intelligence (wisdom) to correct for those distortions and define truth purely.
What do you mean by objective truth? Truth is a concept of the human mind. The universe cares not about truth. And therefore truth cannot be objective since it is perceived by a subject (the human mind).
I mean objective in the impersonal sense... a truth impervious to personal corruption's of perspective and interpretation... a truth logically pure and unpolluted by subjective want desire will etc.
I don't really go for the brain, mind, separation. It is my opinion that we are composed of effectively three levels of "brain intelligence" reflexes and basic drives (the lizard), conditioning made up of preferences and prejudices (the ape) and a knowledge based, logic enabled, reasoning faculty (human intelligence)... uncontrolled by the ape or the lizard, human intelligence can see and define objective truth.
Truth is just another process similar to intelligence that uses our minds.
*The suffering is the enemy* is a *truth* that has to be adopted by each individual again and integrated into the attitude and to applied on every situation anew so there is no truth outside but our acting is the truth (errors included).
