If you watch Askren in the majority of his big matches in college he scored his big moves in scrambles. you could easily argue that he is the best scrambler in wrestling but in freestyle back exposer limits the amount of rolling you can do so it will limit Askren at for a while. Mitch Clark from Ohio state was a great scrambler for his day and amazing college wrestler but never made a great transition to freestyle because of the style conflict

I watched Askren at this tourney and he definitely is not better at freestyle. In his last match of the tourney he stood straight up and stuck his hips straight in and was tripped and taken directly to his back. Sometimes he looked like he didn't have a clue what he was doing out there. His funky style is not good for freestyle because he exposes his back too much which isn't as forgivable in freestyle as it is folkstyle. He is much better at folkstyle.

I wish they had folk-style in the Olympics because Askren would own pretty much everyone.
