I don't see (or hear) how anyone can think this is any actual song from AJFA played backwards. That guitar sound doesn't sound anything like Metallica's. It's a lot wetter than anything in that album. The drums are competent and you can HEAR THE BASS. Come on. None of that would be true if this was from that album. Just LISTEN.

I did like the chunk-thump of the distortion because no one else had done it like that at the time. But for me, the pinnacle of that sound is what Dimebag Darryl did with it, and notice it's quite a bit wetter than the guitar sounds on AJFA.

the reason why drum sounds normal is because whoever made this put ONLY the guitar reversed, then put a normal drum track on it.

PLUS, if it's from AJFA, drum sounds TOO........um..... normal and perfect.

So my logic is:

Bass Track - if it is really from AJFA, jason's part should be not audible, which IS right now.

Drum - Definately MIDI. AJFA drum sound should be sloppy.

my theory is that using some audio editing software like Audacity, some song snippets from various master tracks were cut and pieced together in some awesome way, which would explain why the instruments have the infamous Justice tone and familiar bits and pieces that evoke a sorta "shortest straw" and "eye of the beholder" kinda feel

No, it's not. For one, I've reversed the track myself, it's not a reversed track. One way to tell without having to reverse it is by listening to the drums. A song played backwards will have drums that sound like they're sucking air.

For two, not a single part of either The Shortest Straw nor Eye of the Beholder sound even remotely similar to this. The only similarities this song has to ...And Justice For All is the tones of the instruments.

That's more than likely what happened. That said, there's probably no program used to extract the "air sucking" sound- given that almost all of ...And Justice For All's songs have been broken down into master tracks and released on the internet, someone probably just took the separate guitar and bass tracks, made the song, and added a drum track that fit.
