@23BsE well, this style is inspired by someone who doesn't have dreadlocks....so you can certainly do this if your hair is loose. try looking for a tutorial with your similar hair type

She might be able to fake dreads by doing bantu knot twists by taking hair within the same part and twisting them until they form like a twisted lock of hair (that's the easiest way to describe it). Then tying each twisted end a rubber band or something.

@MikoDollie like i said, this style is inspired by a style done on loose hair. so if you want to try to mimic locs and follow this tutorial that's fine, but you could just as easily find a tutorial for loose hair and do it that way. best of luck!

@Minella14 thanks! i've never heard my locs described as "afrohair" maybe that's a scandinavian thing? there are plenty of other great lady gaga tutorials on youtube for loose Caucasian hair. just keep looking and you'll find one that works for you! and don't wish to be anything other than yourself my dear :)

One question, do you know anything about traction alopecia? A relative (who has always been against my hairstyle) sent me a few links to articles about alopecia caused by dreadlocks, braids etc. Do you think I should worry, bearing in mind mine are a little bit thicker than yours? Ty. x

no, i don't know anything about alopecia as i've never experienced it. but i do know that people that wear extensions a lot tend to get it around their hairline from the hair being braided or sewed in too tightly. but honestly, unless you retwist your locks extremely tight you shouldn't have to worry about that. tell your relative to mind their own business and worry about their own hair and do your thing!

This is very unique and beautiful for locs! I don' t think it looks so great otherwise, lol. This would be awesome for models who have locs and wear this to match their designer outfits. It would also go with some hairsticks if you wanted to be off the wall :-) I will have to try this when my locs are longer.

i actually don't palm roll my locs. i've never felt the need to. i just retwist the new growth. i wash and retwist my hair every 2 weeks. when i first started my hair i waited about a month before washing. thanks for watching
