  • I always loved the Amiga SFX as a kid I loved to turn the volume up to hear the turbo 'scream'

  • Amiga version sounds a lot better....

  • LOL Snes version of the skids sounds like penguins fucking, The bike engine on the Amiga is by far the best I have heard in any game even today.

  • I own both, and they're pretty different, which is good.

The Amiga version wins, because of sound, which is half of what makes this game awesome.

Graphics are a tie. I like the Amiga's better but that's probably nostalgia.

The Amiga definitely wins in the gameplay department.

  • Neither of them sound that great; It's muffled samples with too early cutoff on Amiga vs. no samples (drums) and primitive synthesis on MD. Both engine sounds are pretty awful. But it does look and play better on MD.

  • genesis / mega drive much better don't even compare them.

  • I even played the Career mode through.

  • How I miss the glory days :-) thanks for this trip down memory lane.

  • @JasonLee215 ocean software actually did one of greatest conversions ever on the donkey kong game on the amstrad cpc it actually surpassed the arcade version, ocean software where a great company, every games company has a spell.

  • Its never a good idea to compare a game made by sega and then compare it to a megadrive and amiga because the main console is gonna win your never going to get a sega game to be better than the game developers host console even though ocean software did the amiga port of this.

  • amiga had better sound

  • @whackyronu Are you kidding? Megadrive version sounds about a million times better.

  • @MrThunderwing the lame sound in this video is the megadrive. If you had an AMIGA YOU WOULD NOW!!!!

  • @whackyronu Are you tone deaf as well as illiterate? The music on the Amiga version sounds like a bad MIDI arrangement of the superior Megadrive music and the engine noise sounds like a horrible tinny whine.

  • @whackyronu

Although the music sucked... The Amiga had better sound effects.

  • The Genesis version is much better than the Amiga version in all respects. Bikes are larger, the roads are more detailed with the stripe patterns, and the crashes are present. the Amiga version runs smoothly, and the bike sounds are better to my ears, but crashes are far more rare - this version is far more forgiving. Neither version is a perfect arcade translation, but the Genesis version wins the race. Augh, what a lame-ass Gamepro finish! How terrible of me.

  • It's pretty impressive that the Amiga came out in the time of the NES while the comparisons are more even when put against the next generation of game consoles.

  • La versión Amiga es superior en todos los aspectos, sonido, graficos, animación, cooper effect. Siempre pensé que la megadrive era mejor pero veo que estaba equivocado, el amiga era mejor hardware aunque se creo antes.

  • ( I mean the Amiga version, Megadrives one sucks )

  • I'd love to have the intro song on mp3

  • this video confirms that amiga sound hardware is the best!

  • AMIGA 500 IS STILL THE BEST FOR ME.AND DONT DARE TO COMPARE A DIRECTLY SEGA TO SEGA MEGADRIVE TO A ELECTRIC DREAMS PORT TO AMIGA.IF THE GAME IS PORTED DIRECTLY FROM SEGA IN AMIGA THEN YOU SEE HOW WAS THE AMIGA GAME.STILL I PREFER AMIGA VERSION FOR ME BECAUSE OF MEMORIES.AND TO THE FRIEND HE SAYS AMIGA HAS LIMITATIONS HE MUST COMPARE AMIGA PORTS TO MEGADRIVE ARE BAD GAMES AND GAMEMUSIC AND THE SAME HAPPENS TO SEGA PORTS TO AMIGA VIA ANOTHER COMPANY NOT DIRECTLY.SORRY FOR MY ENGLISH.

  • @petsasjim1 Yeah, SEGA fanboys always that nothing on the miggy can compare to (ugh) Sonic 3, I say, is there something on the Megadrive that can compare to Stardust ? ;) (amiga was never limited to 32/64 colors)

  • Damn the Megadrive version sounds absolutely SHIT! buts its a nice conversion otherwise with many more frames of animation for the approaching bikes but a very dull impression of speed compared to the Amiga version which i think mainly comes down to it horizontal grafting on the roadway as opposed to the Amiga's vertical.

  • For me, the MegaDrive version wins in graphics, music and gameplay. It seems to me that the challenge in the Amiga version is close to zero. I mean, at 4:11, he drove through 4 trees + checkpoint post without crashing! And they really screwed up "Winning Run" in the Amiga version. Now I know the Amiga has its limitations, but to me it looks like they weren't pushed with this game at all...

  • The Amiga version is a bit more easy then the Mega-Drive/Genesis version, cause if you too fast you run out of the course in the Mega-Drive version, at the Amiga you just loose speed.

  • @DantheGermanGamer whatch this 9:40

  • Nice job on clearing any course on the amiga version. It's ridiculously hard because of enemy racers. Comparison wise, the Mega Drive wins on gameplay but the Amiga wins on sound.
