  • Wow - they actually kill in war? Imagine that!

  • Wow, if a guy used a bayonet now he'd get court-martialed.

  • @bargunner18 Only if he uses it to line out spice.

  • @bargunner18 nowadays the soldiers need to get permission FROM THE ENEMY before they are allowed to shoot at them. i think it has somthing to do with the fact we have a muslim in the white house but im not sure

  • @amyhuk What you said was the stupidest I ever heard.Thier called ROE Rules of Engagment dont shoot unless shot upon

  • @Ascenscion123 so you see muslims preparing an attack on a squad of un suspecting royal marines and you cant shoot at them because they didnt shoot at YOU first? sounds like the "rules of engagement" were written by a muslim to me

  • @amyhuk Muslims are name for peopl who are of Islamic Religion.Rules of Engagment are the rules of engaging an enemy.Terrorists are the enemy. The most common rule of engagment is don't shoot unless shot upon.In the middle east civilians and terrorist wear the same clothing, some civilians carry AK47s it dosen't give US troops the right to kill them.If they start shooting they are a combatant.Taliban attack high in the mountains and hide they dont closely approach us because theyre cowards

  • @Ascenscion123 you just keep telling yourself that jack ass. and why your at it why dont you tell the familys of the servicemen who were recently killed because someone burned a koran that muslims arent terrorists. muslims are ALL fanatics. you cant be a muslim and not be brainwashed. their "prophet" fucked nine year old girls. and they dont have a problem with that. if you defend their actions then YOU are as guilty as they are. infact MORE guilty cause you should know better

  • @amyhuk No need to call me a jackass.I know soldiers are getting killed, but what's bad is tha were the one's ho help thier shithole of a country fighting taliban for months training thier military because they cant get the job done.I find that disturbing what I also find is that middle easterns go on riots burning our flag constantly, and we dont kill them but for some reason it gives them reason to attack us.Muslims there are Islamic extremists, muslims here arent extremists

  • @Ascenscion123 muslims here arent extremists? um hello mcfly? ahem Fort Hood shooter?...anwar al awlaki (dont know if i spelled that last one right) the guy who killed his daughter because she was dating someone at her highschool who wasnt a muslim. that isnt extremist? all those examples are "normal" muslims behaving "normally" they are garden variety they werent exceptions to the rule

  • @amyhuk If muslims kill deaths will be praised to hell if innocents die they are a sacrifice to Allah and thier country.I dont get thier religion how would a man go in a cave speak to an angle and write down god's rules and words, muslim religion is a list of chores. The bible was man-made and religion is too but what I dont get is which is the right religion,Im a baptist btw

  • @bargunner18 No he wont it's not suitable because most of our enemies today are far away, hide in caves and in houses.Vietnam yes hand to hand combat was key in vietnam and in WW2

  • you're looking at the spirit of Amurica

  • i just love old military training videos

  • This was the standard training for members of the Channelview Junior High School band.

  • Whats with the love affair with bayonets in all these WWII videos??? I guess it LOOKS dramatic....

  • @colinsdad1 because there very pratical, they work, and they keep you alive

  • The more I watch this video, the more I understand that even if the

acting is quite bad and many scenes are simply ridiculous or totally

unlikely (the fight with the club, the "funny" escape of the german at 7:58, the final face expression of the young american killing him at 8:15 , the use of the knuckle-dusters, the comparison

with the rugby team) this is a deeply dramatic movie because it is

not a modern war movie as we understand this term nowadays, this is

    THE war!

  • It is a sort of simply directed manual filmed for simple audience to

let understand what “a good soldier is…”

Simple but dramatic notions for simple viewers....

  • ....It is a typical institutional movie of the war period shown for

propaganda purposes, pay attention to the “institutional” formal

commentary in background which currently would seem simply

ridicolous. Even if often it is not so realistic (where has it been shot, in the

Maine woods?), it is deeply dramatic due to its explaining purposes

about the Hell on Earth called WAR.

    Frankly, I’m a little upset…

  • Could someone explain me what is the object at 3:25?

    It looks worrying...

The fight with a club seems dramatically ridicolous...

The same at 5:53 when the american soldier rests the gun before killing the sentinel and other situations.

This is a veeery simple-to-be-understood movie for simple people

    "A good soldier is..."

Anyway, it is really a upsetting and sad movie because it has been produced during WWII, but where did they find the german uniforms?

  • @woobinda65 A blackjack, or cosh. A leather thing filled with lead pellets, used as a club. I think the intent was to be exaggerated and simple, so a soldier remembered it in combat.

  • @John234pwns

    Ok, thanks.

I didn't understand because I watched it contrariwise...

I totally agree that many points of this movie are voluntarily exaggerated and simplified...

  • @John234pwns

I wouldn't like to bother you but, in your opinion, why the american soldier, after having shot, looks like taht? I mean that strange facial expression at 8:19 ? What could he say?... Did you observed this scene? Even if this is a cruel and pitiless war movie, the scene with those two soldiers is simply funny: look carefully at the german soldier raising the arms at 7:48 before escaping , it is the same expression of the great comic actors of the 1920s (Keaton, Larry Semon, etc.)

  • @woobinda65 I think you're over analyzing a rather rushed and low budget production made amidst a world war and never designed for public viewing.

  • @John234pwns

Maybe you are right, anyway, even if many scenes are really ridiculous, I find this bad done movie deeply awfull because it is not a fiction as we intend this term nowadays.

This is THE war, a sort of video manual to learn simple and inexperienced people to kill.

    Don't underestimate it...

You didn'r answer: why the american soldier, after having shot, looks like taht? I mean that strange facial expression at 8:19 ?

  • @woobinda65 I think he's going "damn, I missed!" since the German guy escaped.

  • @John234pwns

I read now your answer, thanks.

Anyway it has been a mortal shot, that yankee had nothing to complain...

Did you see the similar brit movies "Close combats"?

They are very bad done and sometimes ridicolous but deeply awfull at the same time...

That was THE war, no jokes!

I will never accept this typical human activity... :-( , never...

  • wait if this was restricted then who watches it?

  • I want next call of duty about ww2.

  • @sergeu78 CoD World at War

  • wars, so silly.

  • This should be mandatory viewing for every soldier.

  • @almostconcerned - i'm keen on how it showed a germ. soldier playing wounded. The right thing to do in a situation like that is to ensure the enemy is truly incapacitated, to assume he's playing possum. But some scumbag journalist in iraq made a big deal about US troops killing wounded enemy. It's a classic technique, and should be taught, as in this video. They kill our wounded, we should kill theirs

  • @decimated550 Everything is situational. If the enemy is actively resisting, even if wounded, like a Japanese soldier playing dead and holding a grenade to his chest, then a soldier is justified in doing him in. If he is not resisting and is trying to surrender, then a soldier needs to exercise restraint. It's a lot to ask of somebody who was just being shot at and and may have buddies killed to follow the rules so closely though. I'd err on the side of trusting the judgment of the troops.

  • First rule: Don't try to kill if you don't trust your self.

  • Kill and avoid been killed ;D

  • I was shown a similar film when i first went to high school.

  • I thought the B word @ 6:30 was a no no in at these times?

  • Comment removed

  • Word.. Kill or be killed...R.I.Pieces...No remorse, no regrets. I am 43...Some people deserve to die, some in the name of peace - some in shame...

  • see knife win against gun that wll determine a real soldier than

  • Fuck'n Awsome.

  • BEST MOMENT EVER AT 7:44 XD omg best thing ever

  • I love there bit with the example of a stupid slow soldier and his whole gosh darn attitude like he's dropped his keys rather than let a nazi get away and give away his position and get reinforcements.

  • "you son of a bitch!" LOL!

  • @misipi6guns451 Fuck you and your excuses for the nazis.

  • Hand to hand is a little lessened these days lol.

  • @FinalExitRadio And they got a right thumb to the eye!

  • very beautiful, thanks for uploading =)

  • forget being nice kill or be killed. Be all you can be.

  • @airbornesoldier123 yeah fuck all that shit who needs rules or morals in a world war?

  • @AltamontKiller the SS?

  • Comment removed

  • @AltamontKiller Our job is to kill the the guy before they kill us. When someone is shooting at you the only rules and morals anyone in combat should be thinking about is killing the person trying to kill them. So yes Kill or be Killed. I reather be alive at the end of the day and the other one dead. You sence you like it the other way when it is my time please jump in front of me and take that round. Thinks for wanting to die.

  • who needs peace when you can go out and kill some shit. hah great clip. love the voice

  • 8:21 "Oh, Shit!", Private Goofy.

  • modern army combatives is bullshit.

  • @Bossafro Somewhat yeah(MACP is excellent in ground fighting) because it is not mainly focused on soldiers.MCMAP is mandatory for marines an they want to make sure they are mrtial artists, the belt system shows thier discipline and shows that MA is a key point in war and makes a key point in a marine.I wish MCMAP was expanded to all branches.MACP as far as tactical scenarion yes, hand to hand no,ground fighting yes.

  • @Bossafro The only way you would have good self-defense skills if you become an instrcutor. The army is large cant make every one a good or decent military martial artist.MACP is ok for a basic level but Marines want Infantrymen green belt which is typically intermediate.MCMAP is also in marines PT.The vietnamese were black belt ma's our army was outnumbered and had to use hand to hand combat alot as a last resort but vietnamese were seldom to fight marines

  • this is how training videos should look like its a lot more interesting and real than anything from today

  • I love these old films. They call them propaganda now, but no... this film, for one, speaks the truth very honestly. "In war, there are no rules." Damn right.

  • Brutality and glory do not make good bed fellows.

  • @maxpalombella11 ,well said.As long as humans are killing eachother there is no reason for pride.

  • @555Nato too true. its just sad that people never seem to learn from past mistakes. Violence always begets more violence and the sooner mankind learns this for real, then we are a doomed race. Peace!

  • @maxpalombella11 ,Hey Massimiliano,I just saw the video on your channel on German combat footage.Pretty interesting video, good shots of those German soldiers..I think humans are dualistic creatures. In one way they want peace in another they want power and action. And many times the people let themselves lied to by these so called leaders bringing them war. Khadaffie Adolf Hitler ,and many more. All lies. But it seems that sometimes people want this...

Are you going to make a movie in england?

  • @555Nato I am actually yes. Its called Kiss and Kill, its going to be a short film/mini-series, about a former soldier with PTSD who becomes a political assassin, with links to ever side of the world. Its about a guy who helps to kick start wars and has to deal with the consequences. I am just starting to polish the script and starting on the storyboards. Its funny that you mentioned duality because thats exactly what this movie is going to cover.

  • @maxpalombella11 ,interesting.Like the guy, private Joker, in the movie Full Metal Jacket wearing a peace symbol on his jacket and on his helmet born to kill at the same time. But the former soldier in your movie. What is the dualistic thing in the movie? Is he peaceful by nature?Does he do things that are actually against the person who he really is

  • @555Nato the killer is a man who loves the action but hates the violence, and yet the violences only adds to the excitement in his life. Its addictive for him. I had a friend who recently returned from Afghanistan and he's seen action in the field and told me that once you get your "first taste of the rush" its hard to come back to civilian life. Its a problem a lot of soldiers have when they return home. They find life so boring, but the problem is that in my movie, the guy is addicted to death

  • @maxpalombella11 ,yes, sounds logical.I have heard this problem about former soldiers before. The person in your story is a person who is actually an addict.Addicted to violence and the rush it causes .He knows that the violence is not good, still he longs for it.I think that having a strong moral helps. And by that I mean you really have to feel it through .If not ,such a person will turn into a life of emptiness where vilolence is the thing that makes him feel alive.which is pretty bad situation..

  • @maxpalombella11 ,Addictiveness you got in all sort of forms it seems...I have also seen a mercenary once talking about when coming back in civilian life.Sitting in a bar next to a man who talks about his problems with his wife.the mercenary said that he considered those problems minor given the fact where has been. Those guys have to watch out for being arrogant and trivialize other peoples problems. No one asked for these guys to go to war. They choose themselves to pick up that gun...

  • Oh I miss our old America.....

  • "not pretty but practical"cool speech

  • "not pretty, but practical" nice speech a hit to the groin

  • Great video! This was before we became obama panzies and turned our fighting troops into police men!

  • @mm3mm3 Can you give us an example?

  • Narrator,''Remember, no army ever won a battle without getting their hands dirty...''

  • Wow, this is like the dirtiest way of fighting. I didn't know in WW2 soldiers fought like that, I always thought "dirty" ways of fighting was a modern invention. I thought back in WW2 soldiers were more "civilized" and they try to either shoot or stab the enemy with a knife. It's quite an eye opener, even after thousands of years, warfare still looks pretty much how it was like in ancient times.

  • @joeheng80 nothing war more "pretty" or "fair" back then im sure the soldiers were just as brutal and ready to fuck anything up as today its just back then they wanted to make it look nice

  • I love how this isn't one-sided propaganda bullshit. They show dramatically how the enemy can best them to fully illustrate the consequences of hesitation and mistakes on a battlefield.

  • @John234pwns You were expecting an Oliver Stone film?

  • This video taught me how to lift a Nazi's face without improving his looks

  • 8:20 "Good shit."

  • was die brlöden basdarde rein stellen in den fernseher "SAUEREI"

  • horrible, enseñando a asesinar en vez de enseñar los ideales y motivos del porque luchar.

  • lol "how to lift a nazi's face without improving his looks"

  • It's funny to see ice hockey being included as one of the 'fair play' examples though. :)

  • Mint.

  • Definitely the Greatest Generation

  • This is the kind of training mind set we need today. The monkys we are fighting today are the same as the nazi's or the japs. They want to take over the world, they want to kill your kids your wife every thing you love. And fuck your dog in the ass and then slit it's throut. There is only one way yo deal with them......SEND THEM TO HELL!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • I dont know how I have missed finding this video for over a year. Thanks man.

  • solid snake would be proud

  • Wow, this is the first time I've ever seen blood and profanity in a training film from the WWII era.

  • My Grandfather Served in Okinawa He used a carbine I respect him.

  • @fatweaselproductions thanks for announcing that statement to anyone who would listen,oh also would you not respect him if he didnt go to war?

  • @zimfan20 I would because he is my elder but because he went to war against his own will I respect him more.

  • "Kick the guy in the balls, and then hit his Mom in the face with a flame thrower! And do it with a smile on your face!"

  • seeing those 2 rolling around at 6:40 on makes me wonder how effective modern MMA would be if both you and your opponent were wearing boots, webbing, packs and helmets.

  • @ajb7876

well mma wouldn't be to helpful imo because it's a sport and (as they'd say in the video) too clean. look for krav maga for example. it's used by the IDF and it's more suited for combat because we strike to the groin or poke the eye... basically everything to save yourself.

    P.S.: Not that I don't like mma!!! I love it !

  • @XxTestProfilxX mma is fine because you can spar full contact with it ,so the skills are yours unlike unresisted training. However, grappling should be discouraged and open hand and ww2 combat strikes encouraged

  • @billysue2 but gouging is grappling.

  • That's the bee's knees! That's it Joe, give that kraut the what for! You've got the moxie G.I.!

  • @Mainsail76 That part about using your legs and feet was classic! When I was a boy, I kicked a boy that was picking on me in the knee. A week later he was still limping. The military today relies too much on technology. When I was in the Marines some of us complained that the Army got all the new stuff but war relies on brute force more than technology!

  • @gjohnsoningary

Damn right. In the end, a bunch of fancy UAVs and missiles are no much better than boots on the ground.

  • @Breakerchase On PBS they did a documentary on the Devil's Brigade using current US Army and Canadian Army personnel. They trained with the old US Army equipment from World War II including the uniforms. A lot of these guys dropped out due the intensity of the training! Also back in the late 90s the Army did physical fitness test using thr old World War II model. Most of the soldiers flunked the test. The ones that did pass barely did! Something to think about.

  • "Toss in a Grenade and let them Divide It i loooooooooovvvviiiiiit

  • why the army doesnt make films like these... with them new special effects im sure they wud be able to make a hell of a movie, and all these little kids wud wanna join the army rite awayyyy

  • Amazing how far we've strayed from this warrior mentality. Complicated ROE and the constant threat of criminal liability, back by our elected officials, have cost many American's their lives.

  • Love it

    Please subscribe to my channel.Thanks!

  • "You can drill a Jap a quarter of a mile" another CLASSIC

  • "You can drill a Jap at a quarter of a mile." lol

  • WE LIKE IT FAST AND HARD

  • God blessall those WW2 US Soldiers, I suppose most of them will have died by now. The memory of the brave sacrifices they made will live on forever.

  • @AntiGravDisclosure There were no winners though, except for those who stayed home in the good ol USA.

  • @Slimsoj What a goofy comment. The winners were the ones that defeated the Nazis and the Japanese. Your comment works only if you are coward who doesn't think there isn't anything worth fighting for. You would make a good slave.

  • @TiminPhoenix Well, those who faught and survide were all marked by the war. Terrible memories and recurrent dreams of terrible experiences.

  • @AntiGravDisclosure wow, what a shock, an american writing a comment about how brave the American soldier was, but you don't think about the other countries?.. Nah American or the US was the one that saved the World from the Nazies... you are wrong, jesus..

  • @TheSkarsbo E

...erm, I am English actually, and had Irish and English family that died in WW2. Anyway, you are entitled to your opinion, so there you go.

Anyway, you won't change my mind, the memory of WW2 US soldiers' sacrifices will burn on forever.

  • I love video's like this. I wonder in this Politically correct world if they could make a modern version? Fighting terrorists. I wonder if one exists?

  • "WE KNOW HOW 2 FIGHT IT & WIN IT!!"

  • "Toss in a Grenade and let them Divide It"! CLASSIC

  • @generalzod4life I know, that was brilliant!!

  • intense... very informative!

  • 3.12 rofl

    army issue caveman club

  • Wow. Beautiful classic piece of footage. Love it 5/5

  • Feels like we're really in 1942!

  • Highly motivational!

  • Wow this is an oldie and a goodie. Thanks for posting.

  • leave this one on...these old goldmines are too hard to find.

  • Brilliant!

  • thanks
