  • ZEPPELIN gone 50's why don't Plant grow sideburns like Elvis

  • Any Questions?

  • Wow! I love it! Big Band of the 80's

  • too bad there was never a Honey Dippers Volume 2. :(

  • Yes, Paul mentioned on Plants interview last year on Letterman that he played keyboards on this Honeydrippers album.

  • That woman's gonna break something at 4:00 LOL...love this song and video :)

  • If I'm not mistaken, Paul Shaffer is playing the piano here

  • going to rock dec. 31....happy 2012!!111

  • Both Jimmy Page AND Jeff Beck play on this....

And vargarna87 you're correct, that's Paul Shaffer the Letterman Shows bandleader on keyboards....

Also Nile Rodgers of Chic played a little guitar on this as well as co-producing

  • very cool 2 minstral this is simnply so much fun (and we all love the dancing!) so fun!

  • As a Rock n Roll DJ back then, this song was a must. 8O) Added to the World United Music website. 8O)

  • I came here from BarryDennen12 but I stayed for Robert Plant's dancing. :D

  • hey hey

  • As far as I'm concerned, this tune tops anything Led Zepplin ever did! The sad thing is that this was the only cut on the record that really approached this level of rocked-out swinging bliss. During this period there were a handful of tunes that approached this level -- "Curly Shuffle" and yes, Manilow's "Bandstand" -- but we had to wait for the "swing revival" of the '90s before things really got hot.

  • No ha cambiado aun me parece sexy jajaja :D

  • The original song is great too.

  • Man...this is what music is all about....if u sit still during this tune ..u need to shoot your feet.....shaken and a bakin at its best....

  • wait is keyboard the bald fella from letterman?

  • anyone know where to find the dance clips?

  • 3:04 love the fringe hip swivel!!

  • this LP was all about Plant having fun exploring songs he's grew up digging not some big Zeppy artistic statement just good songs done well. Don't judge it by other music that had an entirely different purpose.

  • The 'drippers hit #25 in Billboard, 2-23-85. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx! Have a great week!

  • classics

  • only 3 trolls found this one?

  • @prober45 Actually 4 but I fucking love this song.

  • Simply F A N T A S T I C !!!

  • 3 people are retarded and tone deaf...this is classic stuff here!

  • @tpbdragon1 You got that right!! This song and video kind of makes me think of the Stray Cats and "Rock This Town" and the other big hit "Sexy and Seventeen" I think it was!

  • wasnt jimmy on guitar for "Honeydrippers"?

  • @tpbdragon1 no

  • friggin awesome!!!

  • 3 people are either tone-deaf, dont like women with sexy legs or have NO sence of humor (that guy at 2:40 ALWAYS cracks me up-LOL!)...

    AWESOME SONG!!!

  • Hail Robert Plant

  • What a FANTASTIC album ! Go buy it on Vinyl !!!

  • That's Rock n Roll, the way it was invented.

  • Plant is God!

  • Thanks for posting this, freakin' awesome. I had this on LP the day it was released, it still has a great groove after all these years.

And three people are absolutely clueless.

  • it,s a good Karoke track too....

  • 3 people aren't Rockin' at Midnight.

  • @jarrett2005x Three people don't know what they heck they are thinking - this song is a classic!

  • Una scarica di adrenalina!

  • I have always been a Zeppelin fan...but I credit my "Pops" for turning me onto "The Honeydrippers" or "Post zeppelin" as "I" call it...either way...it's BADASS!!!!

  • 3 dislikes????? don't be ridiculous lol

  • This is basically my brother, embodied in song.

  • This song makes me want to dance, but I'm in an enclosed space.

  • I'm a huge Zep/Plant fan but this is just not the way to use his talent. There's a reason so many people have never heard of this "supergroup" and that's because as Zep Page and Plant rocked so much harder. But still a good song I love the 50s style music

  • @iconicSTYLZ I can't really agree with you there. For one this EP was very succesfull. And it really wasn't a "supergroup". It was Robert Plant's project. Jimmy Page and Jeff Beck appeared on one song each as guests. Lastly, I think it's much better than the final unlistenable album by Led Zeppelin. I've never been more disappointed in my life than when I ran all the way home from the record store to put on In Through The Out Door. I heard Carouselambra and was like "WTF?"

  • Aint plant like the coolest mofo in the world???

    I love this!!!

    Now lets dance!!!!!!

  • Got to get the box set, LOVVVVVE This sound. It is magnificent!!! Like to know who is howlin on that sax!!

What a cool drink of water Robert makes, love the artwork of this vid.

  • Got to get the box set, LOVVVVVE This sound. It is magnificent!!! Like to know who is howlin on that sax!!

  • Thanks so much for posting this video!!!! What a sound, I can't believe Plant's voice, it knows no bounds!! My son is a big led zeppelin fan I emailed him the video. Back when white people knew how to boogie. Now that's dancing, more like an aerobic exercise, but its the bomb!

  • The people dancing, or trying to... They're so ... white.

  • I thought this was Brian Setzer on guitar ?

  • @SRVMOE- It is,my friend.It is.

  • @SRVMOE yes you are correct!!!!!!!

  • @SRVMOE you are correct, sir!!!!!!

  • The Honey Drippers....lol XD

  • Los tiempos de Rock 101!!!!

  • Robert Plant has SUCH a great voice for old time rock and roll!

  • Great!

But where's the live version with Brian Setzer?

  • Good Rockin' with Robert Plant....Elvis would be proud of that hip-shakin'!!!

  • Sounds like 1956 or 1957! Good song!

  • This is pretty much musical genius here. It's what I would call "Big Band Rock & Roll". How the hell can there be any dislikes on this one? They must be mental cases.

  • This song just makes me smile...happy feet music!

  • Please, to the person who brought us this video, change the title so it may be easier to relate ti this great band. Add something like The Honey Drippers

It is an awesome musical video.

Thank you for uploading this kind of material!

  • Wasn't Nile Rogers of CHIC involved with The Honeydrippers? If so, that's totally awesome!

  • One person gave this classic the red thumb, sad fucker!

  • If you can sit still to this jam check your pulse because your ass has check out!

  • great f'n tune.

  • This song, this version is just AWESOME.

    10 / 5 *****

  • I love how he dances!!*w*

  • Where the fuck is this song ?????

  • una rolita de mis tiempos jajajaaj LOL :D!!!

  • What a great video!

  • he's got good moves, but are those Elvis rip-offs intentional?

  • If your teeth don't itch and your feet don't twitch, then you are dead!

  • ROBERT PLANT ,A MAN WITH CLASS AND STILL "ROCKS"!!!!!!!!!!

  • The guy with no neck ROCKS!...as does the song.

  • Absolutely ROCKING!

  • One of my fav Plant tunes! Thanks for sharing this.

  • Plant has said publicly that all the Honeydrippers stuff is cheese, but his voice is perfect on this. Thanks for posting it!

  • Fabulous!

  • @xxmusicheadxx

    C'mon. Beck is on guitar!

  • This is the Honeydrippers.

  • I want to know just one thing: When are these bastards going to do Vol. 2?

  • @theoriginalbadbob I WISH!!!

  • I've listened to this album, all 18 minutes and 18 seconds of it, about 6 or 7 hundred times, and just found out it's Jeff Beck and not Jimmy Page doing the great guitar work on this number. I've been rockin' out to this for 25 years. My favorite cut is "Young Boy Blues."

  • One of my favorites. Awesome!!!

  • ahhh good old plant.may he rock on forever.

  • Jeff Beck is great on EVERYTHING.

  • @xxmusicheadxx No,, Robert Plant is the singer for the HoneyDrippers. This is their song off their big album "HoneyDrippers Vol 1"

Jeff Beck plays lead guitar on this song. Paul Schaffer from David Letterman on the keyboards.

  • If anybody want to know where Breakdancing came from....Go back to the days

of original Rock N' Roll. And let me tell ya,You have to be very energetic and

    limber to jitterbug/lindy hop.I'm 55 years young....I dabble but I can't go to

    the extreme lol

  • ht#8 rock, #25 pop, #38 AC in the US (Billboard). Did it chart in the UK? God bless!

  • the best rockin' at midnight is Roy Brown's original song!

  • i love swing music, and this is one of the best post LED ZEPPLIN collaborations there is.

  • @MsGuitargoddess haha Rock it lil sista haha you sexy thang

  • luv it

  • Que buen ritmo gracias mi querido amigo Antonio por el envio

  • This song just kicks ass. Fantastic vocals. Plant doesn't have this voice anymore. The best period for his voice. Becky just playin the shit outta that guitar!

  • He's so got those Elvis knees down.

OOOoooOOOoooo Rockin' Robert, we're really gonna rock tonight....

  • Elvis was famous for his hips, not knees

  • True enough. But the hips tend to follow the knees, no? Either way, Robert's got it goin' on. ;o].

  • pure class jimmy page is brill

  • pretty cool to see this cool rockabilly side to Robert Plant....great stuff!!

  • This is the Honeydrippers' video.... Great find!

  • Great , just great . Plant is the best Rock & Blues singer , ever !!!

  • And HOW!

  • FAN-TAB-U-LOUS...

  • Good !? - This is AWESOME !!!

Just dig that sax-o-phone solo !

They got THE TEMPO, the all-important Tempo, absolutely spot on right, too!

    (Can't be over-emphasised!)

    Glorious Stereo Sound , too ! =D

    Jihaaaaa !!

  • This is such an awesome song. It's amazing how they could bring the 50's sound into the 80's like that and make it perfect. Now... if only we can get an actually good modern band to do the same with 70's music. Rock on, Plant!

  • @ "Coolinbnyoncrack"

    "50's sound" ?

Hm, guess you mean this MUSIC STYLE that was new and popular in the -50's and -40's.

This really is SWING music (LOVE IT !!!), merged with 'rock-lyrics', performed by top-class professional musicians and recorded at the -80's State-of-the-art level of sound.

    Horay !!!

    :)

( Very few -50's recordings would want to be remembered for the sound ... :-/ )

  • Gotta try this at karaoke one night. If people don't get up and dance to this they might be dead.

  • YES, couldnt agree more...but can be a tough song to do...I do it karaoke from time-to-time...GREAT/FUN but challenging too...LOL!

  • @parrotheadstunz Give it a try ! However, be prepared to watch the drunks crash to the floor with this fast moving tune. PS Song sounds BEST on vinyl !

  • hommage to wynonie harris

  • Just like Blind Faith,The Power Station and others, it was something they wanted to try once . I'm glad they did .

  • Wish they would of followed up with a second album. All star lineup. Plant can kroon!

  • LOVE IT LOVE LOVE OT!!!

  • Good Roy brown cover!!!

  • FUN FUN FUN! WOO HOO! love it...

  • I thought Brian Setzer was on guitar.

  • Setzer handled guitar when they played on Saturday Night Live. Beck though was on the album.

  • so was Mr Page........

  • @X1xone : Right you are, and Setzer absolutely ripped it up!!

  • It was a one album gig...........good album though!!!

  • The "group" was billed as the Honeydrippers back in the 80s.

  • amazing! very interesting, never thought this could happen!

  • Yes, it is Mr. Beck.

  • No, Jeff Beck is on lead guitar. There was some speculation it was Jimmy Page, but as jimbofresh says Page plays on "Sea Of Love".

  • Yeah, sounds like Jeff Beck! Rockin' song!

  • cool robert Plant‼‼ loveya

  • It's Jeff Beck on this track. Page plays on "Sea of Love".

  • Thx for the update

  • I heard that the members of The stray cats were in this goup too.

  • @jimbofresh F'n Beck is everywhere - I love him!
