If you are moved by not just his singles but Stevies art you are among the few intelligent, creative individuals in tune with life on a much deeper level than most.
Why can't music be like this anymore? This song is absolutely brilliant. I'm 21, and I have most of Stevie's albums, but this song is definitely up there with his other 'classics.'
I heard this song for the 1st time a couple of days ago. I don't know if this song was a hit when it came out but i think it's one of his best songs. I can't get this song out of my head. My favorite from Stevieis still Send One Your Love............

This is in my opinion the best Stevie Wonder song. He pulls ALL THE STOPS here and showcases all his talents as musician, songwriter and singer. And yes, i have listened to Talking Book, FFF, Songs in the key of Life, Innervisions and Hotter than July. Moreover, i have the original vinyl records :)
NOBODY ! NOBODY ,but MR.STEVIE WONDER !!!!!! I LOVE a LOT of musicians. There is so much amazing recorded music out there, really, really great artists that I am SO grateful for, BUT nobody ,NOBODY has a career like SW. The amount of AMAZING: songs written-lyrics&music;performances-live & recorded playing; singing; innovations on ALL levels. There really isn't another whose life in music is so vast. He's as critically acclaimed as possible & as widely loved over DECADES as any artist ever
This is one of the best songs that I've heard from Stevie Wonder. Is it sad to say that every time that I listen to this song I thought of Michael Jackson ?
this is one of the true hidden gems from stevie. great track even if motown didnt want to promote this album. 9th wonder came correct with the sample on perfect world too. 1
This being Stevie's best track or album is all nonsense. It makes me wonder if any of these folk ever heard any of his other music. This is clearly a transitional album and disjointed song, before creating his golden trilogoy finishing in his magnus opus Songs in the Key of Life.
I discovered this album in my mother's collection as a kid, and it quickly became one of my favorite album. Personally, I feel it's the best album he EVER made.
2:51 and 3:47 - Syreeta Wright, Stevie's late great ex-wife, was featured on backing vocals. She and Stevie co-wrote all songs in this album. Syreeta had a beautiful voice
I really think this is one of stevie's best songs yet it's not very well known and stevie never seems to do it live! Does anyone if there's a good live performance of this, preferably from the early 70s anywhere? It seems like such a potentially great rousing closer or mid-point climax to a concert.
what a BEAUTIFUL soul this man is he is truly a BLESSED soul im 33 and my mother had all these LPs thanks mom for loving good music and teaching me what real music really is I dont know what they call some of this music now days but it sure isnt real music
Stevie's music makes me cry...my mom used to listen to him when I was in her womb...born in 1972. thanks mom and pop for listening to such a brilliant musician and making me play keyboards. =]
I don't know why he never performed this, it was probably never played anywhere, and it is only known to those who've gotten the album. It could have been to Stevie what "Reach Out and Touch" is to Diana Ross. The message is a lot like a lot of the "state of the world/help the children" songs he comes out with today.
I want to buy this album but it's out of print. I can buy a used copy from Amazon but they want $30 for a vinyl LP and $40 for a cd! Thanks for posting these great songs. Now I can enjoy them anytime for free. I think of you as MY soldier!

I think this would have been better if it had been about 3 minutes long and without the kids singing.

Very underrated. I'm not surprise my stupid taste challenge cousin thinks Stevie is "boring", it's her lost and our gain. :)

jackstill78 2 years ago 18
@jackstill78 Yep agree. I was thinking the same thing.
ben2976 6 months ago
@jackstill78 It was probably too long to become a big hit, but it's incredibly melodic -- to me, it sounds like two great songs compressed into one.
