In my opinion, this sounds a little too fast, making some parts sound a little sloppy. Other than that, she played well. I liked her dynamics and I praise her for trying something different from others. I just like it slower though.
Her music is the mirror of her life, the extraordinary experience of life she had by leaving her homeland at 12 years old by her own. Nothing to do with pampered prodigies. That's why we feel millions of emotions and colors in her playing, the great maturity and depth beyond ages in life and in music allowed Lim to become the youngest artist ever to record the colossal Beethoven sonatas cycle at 24 years old.

When I heard that a 24 years old pianist has achieved the complete Beethoven sonatas in recording, I thought : or she's insane and unconscious, or she's a true genius. It simple, daring such a monstrous recording, you can, or you cannot. And Lim did it in the most expressive way and has refound Beethoven's revolutionary spirit and fire like I have never heard before. I have lost all my words....
I do play piano a bit and am learning this, this is sort of the correct tempo although needs a kind of up beat atmosphere! ind of got slighty boring after a while but beautiful music!
Most interesting and beautiful interpretation ever. She really captured Beethoven's spirit, the world is very lucky that Lim has made this integral with her revolutionary visions. Her Beethoven is the most powerful, expressif, revolutionary, a true beethovenian insight. This integral will emerge as the reference for all.
Judging from the comments, I have to add that many people who've left them don't actually play piano. This is a correct tempo. The majority of performances of this sonata are actually interpreted with the wrong and slower tempo, which could falsely create the perception that this particular performance is deviant.
Thank you for having revived this music that has been asleep for too long! Finally I hear the real moonlight, each harmonie is felt and has its own colour, so the succession of the hamornies in your interpretation makes real sense! For the first time, I've cried listening to this piece. Most moving interpretation i've ever heard.
Cordialement.

I like this view of the sonata, which is almost always played too slow. The indication is Adagio sostenuto, which means "At ease and sustained", which to me points to a flowing, cantabile in which THE NOTES are sustained and not TIME. Very expressive and she's very attentive to all the expressive markings in the score, as well as nuances and shadings that go well with the harmonic colors. Still would like to hear the other two movements to see what she does there.
bueatiful (ok i cant spell but u get the idea) the only piano piece i love. fucking lovely :-)

The pianist is beautiful. But plays without expression. She stayed on the surface of the music of Beethoven. Is young and has still a long way to go.

The people who don't get this should just stick to their Daniel Barenboim and Claudio Arrau records.
