Boy! Check out that old Cat! ..... Sergio has aged gracefully I suppose, looks like he should be retired, standing around with all the Cubanos down in Miami with a cigar stuck in his face! At least he has some tasty women singers for the new gig... and a pretty close approximation of the "Lanny Hall" sound and vibe at that! Yeah, they do a great job. It's as if Sergio is trying to re-create that classic hipply mellow 60s sound they were famous for. Buena Suerte amigo mio, y que le vaya bien!
mmmm.... that singer in pink is really cute. I love that good upbeat tunes from the 50s, 60s, 70s are plentiful on youtube. Sergio was among the best in this genre.
I love Dusty Springfield but the original release of this song is on the sleepy side. Sergio's version rocks! The girls sing well together and I always like a "hard-hitting" drummer. Nice video.
My wife and I saw them in Austin a couple of years ago in a small venue with about 200 people...after growing up listening to him (my older sister had all of his albums), it was a "bucket list" like event for me...Man-o-man I love their music.
I think it is still cool music and purely coincidentally yesterday I bought the Universal Masters Collection CD Classic Sergio Mendez, with all the original Brazil 66 hits.
I have very fond memories back when my father bought the Brasil '66 album and brought it home and immediately took my mother and danced with her to these incredible songs of Sergio Mendes. I learned to Cha-Cha at the age of 3 to both these songs. I know all the words by heart and verbatim. The album is still in mint condition considering how often my family played it through the decades! We've been dancing to all his songs for 40 YEARS! We love you Sergio Mendes! :-) XoXo
Oi, 88! I picked two vids from you that I haven't seen elsewhere on YT. Muit'obrigad! Through Tube I am finding a treasure of Brazilain music that we did not get in 1960s USA, but I always come back to the music of Mendes and Jobim - Brazil's greatest ambassdors to the world.
P.S. I just took one of your countrymen to breakfast. It was BAGUNCA! I did not want it to become a diplomatic incident between Brazil and the USA, so I told him the restaurant just hired a new chef from Argentina!
I remember growing up listening to this. My dad always played this for my mom...over 40 years ago. Those were very nice days. Wish I could bring them back.
*Wow, on point, as always! What lovely voices!^

Quando não mete o maldito hip-hop ou funk beat, Sergio continua fantástico! Dá-lhe Niteroiense da peste! ;-)
When he does not fool around with those damn hip-hop/funk beats, Sergio show's he still has it, fantastic!
Greetings from Rio!

Brings me back. So glad Sergio never changed his sound. Band looks young but they're carrying the torch to the next generation so the music lives on.

@papabearfor3 --You suck !!! LOL!
Seriously, I bet they can still deliver--so always very tight--so crisp on their transitions.
Definitely Bucket list material...!

You need to listen to the version of this song sang by Fergie, with Sergio on keyboard. It's totally awesome !

NOPE! If it isn't Lani, it isn't Brasil '66. Not even close.
Halo101st 2 years ago 2
+1 on the Lani sentiment but actually, the B'66 "Look of Love" was led by Janis Hansen, in her only lead for the group.
sjinsjca 2 years ago
Agreed, although I am a big Lani fan, I must agree that Janis Hansen did a great job as the lead singer in the Look of Love recording.

Totally not taking this song seriously for its merit and what it did for Sergio Mendes. Umm, where is he today?
Amhlair 2 years ago
Apparently he's still playing.
That concert was quite recent.

Thats true Chicreal, this Latin jazz brings back so many nice memories of a very different generation, perhaps a better one.
