  • Chavez is the best mexican warrior ever never got ko'd but got caught once by that chink but he never gave up or layed on the canvas not once true heart and pride to be a MEXICAN!

  • @sparcoxwx juan manuel marquez ;) sin duda

  • Although Juan manuel marquez is my personal favriot, Chavez really paved the way for guys like him and gave jmm and other mexican boxers the faith they needed to get this far!

  • What happened to this type of boxing. Back then these guys used to fight until they couldn't no more. Nowadays boxers just hug each other when they get tired and most of the time they don't even fight. It's gets really annoying. This is why I much prefer old school boxing. And Julio is the best fighter of all time IMO. He had the heart and pride to never quit and his record says it all.

  • A Legend period!!!..look at all the guys he fought...reminds me of manny...guys where bigger fell down...My favorite boxer of all time....who would win between chavez and manny paquiao...we would never know...but chavez would have the edge becasue he was fast and chaced his opponents..and his uppercuts would kill manny...all paquiao fights..he has no answer for the uppercut..

  • Thanks a lot for your videos!

  • Imagine dealing with a loss like that. I think it would have taken the steam out of just about anyone. Much respect to Julio for pulling it out, but he is still over rated in my book.

  • Taylor was number 1 because that was the number 1 robbery. I was young when they fought but this brings back memories!!!

  • out of alll the mexican fighters...chavez was the one that came out with pride and force to represent the mexican people....his record is crazy but his fighting style out this wrold....i think if time was not a factor!!!pacquiao and cesar would be a fight to killl for....REALLY!!!!!!

  • @TMAN2DUECES damn right,107 wins with only 6 losses

  • @TMAN2DUECES i think pac man would have one, he almost lost agaisnt meldrick. n i think meldrick did win that fight, he very fast.n chavez had trouble

  • @projectx1000 - and he got knocked out! the fight is over after round 12 not during

  • @projectx1000 Meldrick taylor got knocked out. he was wining the fight i give you that, but in the end he lost and almost got killed, i guess you didn't know he swalloed like a pint of his own blood and had the orbital bone on his face fractured, Meldrik landed more than 1000 blows chavez landed close to half of that but his blows where pure dynamite taylor's where like cotton candy to Chavez, but still people think he had won that fight i just think he is lucky to be alive!

  • @Proudmexica I know, I saw a vid . of an interview of Meldrick a few years after trhe Chavezs fight, and he look really bad. The Chavez fight ended Meldrick career. But I still think he won and that mayb he should have never fought Chavez. oh well

  • @projectx1000 pac no chance against 1 of the g.o.a.t p4p.. manny got knocked out with his eyes crossed in filipines before he started juicing... look it up. who knocked jc out like that? ur crazy

  • @TMAN2DUECES dont mention that fraud in the same sentence as chavez

  • Alot of Spanish on this thread. To any English reading Mexicans out there I'm interested in hearing who you consider the best Mexican boxer ever, Chavez, Sanchez, Olivares or someone else? Theres plenty to choose from.

  • good job on putting this together

Haha.

Pero buen estilista come dices. Saludos!

  • In his prime there was no fighter tougher then Chavez. Angelo Dundee, the great trainer of Ali and Sugar Ray, said that Chavez was the toughest fighter he has ever seen of all time. That is saying a lot. I would have love to see Chavez fight Salvador Sanchez. That would have been a great fight.

  • Angelo is a legendary trainer and is entitled to his own opinion. But Chavez never faced the competition like Duran did, nor was he hit by the power shots Roberto was hit with. Duran was 100 times tougher and superior to Chavez!

As for Sanchez vs Chavez? Sal was a masterful boxer puncher compared to the flat-footed predictable Chavez.

  • FUCK JULIO CESAR CHAVEZ!!!!

  • Has any other fighter beaten Chavez record...?

  • Yes, Willie Pep has!!!!

  • Good looking out!

  • Willie Pep went 61-0 before his first loss, while Chavez made it all the way to 90-0-1 with some help ofcourse, so you are wrong jackass.

  • I wish Chavez was still at his prime so he could knock out Pacquiao and bring boxing back to its real fans.

  • how is Pacquiao not bringing or representing for the real boxing fans? he's 1 of the only fighters doing anything for the sport of boxing at this point. Consistently moving up in weight and challenging himself vs many of this era's toughest fighters.

  • I've converted since I wrote that comment. My dream match would be between Chavez and Pacquiao or Chavez and Duran. Hell, maybe even Chavez and Sugar Ray Robinson.

  • you've got to be joking? LOL! out of the 3, Chavez would fair the best against Pacquiao; not saying he's asssured victory by any means. But against Duran he'd be beaten to a pulp; and vs Robinson well that just makes no sense, It'd be a massacre.

  • But Freddie Roach said that Duran would beat Pacquiao. And when you say putting him against Ray Robinson, do you mean that Robinson would be massacred, or visa versa?

  • of coarse Robinson WOULDN'T be massacred.

  • lol okay i was about to say... how do you think pacquiao will do against mayweather?

  • I more than like his chances!

  • I agree with you PapaMagnum the #1 driving force of Boxing is the Latino fan so we need another Chavez, Duran, Trinidad, etc., or clone the original Chavez. If it wasnt for Pacman the Filipinos would probably be watching MMA more often Boxing and would crown Brandon Vera or WWE star Batista their national icons. Instead you get all of these Pacman nutthuggers who all of a sudden became boxing fans and believe they would get fighters like Pacman all the time from now on.

  • Yeah, I'm looking at guys like Alfredo Angulo and maybe (a big maybe) Chris Arreola to pick up the mantle. Can you imagine how idolized the next Latino boxing icon will be after Pacquiao retires?

  • I like Alfredo Angulo's style he's like a fair and honest Margarito without the plaster, but Arreola's weight problems make me a skeptic, but I still love the idea of a Mexican Heavyweight. Dont forget Juan Carlos Salgado(the man who KO'ed Jorge Linares), Abner Mares, and Saul Canelo Alvarez(whitest looking Mexican I've ever seen), and who knows what the future might be for Vicious Ortiz,JCC Jr., or Omar Chavez either. The next Mex Superstar is out there we just have to wait for his rise.

  • Yeah. Hey, not trying to come off as too much of a hater, but do you get the weird feeling that Pacquiao may be... you know... on something? I just can't shake the feeling, please prove me wrong if I am because I kind of hope I am.

  • I understand dude. Margarito a full blown welterweight with cement in his hands didnt make Cotto drop like that. And most fighters will tell you that when you go up in weight, you dont carry your power with you. Did you ever see Roy Jones Jr. a gifted fighter like Pacman knock guys out like that at Heavyweight. Its a little odd how Pacman is destroying guys more brutally at higher weightclasses than what he did at the lower weights. Its not that crazy to think he may be on something.

  • Okay cool because Kermit Cintron, Sergio Martinez, and Mayweather Sr. are all starting to ask the same thing. His career arc is similar to that of Barry Bonds or Marc Macguire. Roy Jones Jr. is incredibly strong and fast and athletically gifted and didn't knock guys like that out at heavyweight, so yeah I agree.

  • he really isn't KO'ing boxers as you mention? with the exception of Hatton and a few others. He's overwhelming them with his superior ability & conditioning then TKO'ing them into submission; big difference. Your right though, it is uncanny what he's doing to these boxers in higher weight classes. But to imply "he's on something"? is ridiculous & unfounded; if your referring to drugs? What he's on? is on a very strict training regimen; combined with Great talent and fast twitch reflexes.

  • I don't see the point to this blind, biased supposed nationalism? it appears you'd rather support a medioce fighter on the basis of him being Latino than seeing a superior figher or match-up regardless of nationality. You speak of fans as "nuthuggers"? claiming boxing, as if it were a Latino thing? when in reality Filipino's had a recognized boxing Champion years before the 1st Latin Champion was ever crowned. If you knew some history you'd know that? instead of making outlandish claims.

  • What the hell are you talking about. I know damn well the Filipinos had a champ before the Latinos got one and that guy you are talking about must be the late Pancho Villa. So I know my history. You think you are a smart ass but I know just as much history as you, and if it wasnt for Pacquaio the Phillipines would still be still reminiscent of Flash Elorde. If you look at Latin America's history in boxing it's clearly much richer than anything the Phillipines has done since Flash Elorde.

  • I tend to lean Latino and Black because of what they have done in the sport of boxing. They have done more in the sport of boxing than what any Filipino has ever done, so yes I rather cheer for the other. I also cheer for Kelly Pavlik because he's a rare white AMERICAN Champion in boxing. I watch anything thats boxing, I live and breathe boxing, its my favorite sport. I rather watch a good scrap than watch a football game. And I can cheer for whoever I want to cheer for, its my money.

  • do you comprehend that your skewed perception of "doing more for the sport" could most certainly be attributed to the obvious fact that Latino's & AfricanAmericans represent a larger segment of the population; and it's no secret the demographics are changing as well. The Asiatic & Pacific Islander population is increasing at a fast rate. Therefore "as you say" increasing the demand for marketable fighters of that background as well.

  • I am not making outlandish claims look at all the Boxing PPV numbers recently, the best being that they have a Latino or African American in it. You can talk to Bob Arum, Golden Boy, Al Haymond, Lou Dibella, etc. and they will all tell you that Boxing's number one fan at this point is the Hispanic Fan so to continue the Hispanic interest it needs a champ. All the little rebellious white American teenagers with Tapout shirts are in fact watching MMA. So I know what I am talking about judaschAngo.

  • that's exactly your bias: "you tend to lean"? unlike you, Mr. Arum or the casual week-end warrior fan you seem to represent; I watch regardless of nationality, popularity or fad. Your a fool if your implying Pacquiao isn't as popular as a LatinAmerican or AfricanAmerican counterpart? Manny possesses a popularity that transcends perceived national or ethnic boundries, a la Ali or a Duran. E.g. Chavez was also popular but in a narrower sense limited almost exclusively to his fellow countrymen.

  • that's exactly the problem today everything is geared & packaged towards the NON-discerning masses. Loosing sight of the intrinsic, individualistic nature of Boxing as a combat sport. The way I see it; if Boxing looses supposed Hispanic fans, or any fans for that matter, due to its failure to produce a highly marketable hypeable superstar. Then so be it; I suppose they weren't real aficionados in the 1st place.

Trends & fads seldom prove to be correct?

look at what they did to Jesus Christ?

  • loosing? losing! LOL

  • Fans like me tend to cheer for people they can relate to, and thats most likely a fellow countryman. The MexFans know that the Mexican Fighter they are cheering for is basically one of them especially by the flag they display. The connection between fan and fighter is much closer than it would be for another fighter from another country. We share language, family, religion, country, experiences, etc. I am not going to cheer for a Euro just because he's the best in the world. Understand?

  • I may have talked a lot of smack about Pacman, but I am just being a fan. I respect the man for his accomplishments but it wont stop me for cheering for the other guy every time he steps in the ring. You wont also hear me cheer for the Eagles just because they are the best, I am a Cowboy and I bleed silver and blue and I will stay true to my team no matter the circumstances, the same with the boxers I root for. I wont change my mind just because the other guy is the best.

  • I get the impression you are like a little weasel who tends to lean to whatever side is winning, so you can say you are a fan and wont look like a loser. You are no real fan sir just a little girl who cant decide which Barbie she wants so you will pick the most popular and best selling doll. Oh, and another thing I always cheered for Frazier and not Ali, I always hated Ali's mouth but I respected his skills.

  • believe me NOT my intention to come off that way; I also cheer for favorite fighters, & I've certainly been wrong with regards to picking winners; but I just put more emphasis on fighting style & skill than anything else.

  • Well sorry for sounding a little harsh, I am usually better than that. But you came to me as a little weird for a boxing fan with your comments but thanks for the clarification. I've been plenty wrong in my picks but I will keep on waiting for the next great hispanic champ. Heck, the Lions and Cubs are still waiting so why cant I. I guess you love the sport in a different way as I love the sport in my way.

  • by the way do you remember Francisco Bojada? man that kid possessed some good(I would even say great) abilities. Kind of reminiscent of a young Duran; but unfortuanately the desire, work ethic or mental frotitude just wasn't there. I guess you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink?

  • If the Cowboys werent around then I wouldnt really care for football either. The whole world doesnt think like you jackass. Irish Fans will cheer for Bernard Dunne, Panamanian fans will cheer for Celestino Caballero, Mexican fans will cheer for anything that represents them including the Mexi-Colombian Antonio Pitalua, the Venezuelans will cheer for Edwin Valero, the African Americans will cheer for Mayweather, it goes on.

  • chavez gave a elbow at 2 : 11 lol but he was smart wen he did that cuz he always had the ref in the corner of his eye

  • Alberto Cortes, the same argentine who dropped Tito Trinidad twice, edwin rosario, a dominant lightweight when Chavez beat him, julio fought them all, the greatest mexican fighter ever along with ricardo lopez.

Jajajajajaaaa

  • its good to see pacquiao vs chavez...
