I plan to use this opportunity to remove the CRT and fit a 17" flat screen instead.
I just happen to have access to a lot of 17" LCD screens that are being trashed at work. So I hope to get a nice collection together. Handy for spares.
Dude, I have an eMac doing exactly the same thing and it's the flyback transformers.
It may be a dry solder joint - given the age of the eMac 700 - and that would be fairly easy to fix if you are handy with a soldering iron.
But you need to take precautions as there can be up to 25,000 volts on a colour CRT monitor. You would need to leave it switched off and unplugged for about a month before trying anything - especially if you don't know how to discharge a CRT safely.
@MatchstalkMan well the CRT Monitor is finished after this video when putting the case back on i accedentally hit the screen with the case but its wierd i didnt hit it hard at all just a light tap and the air started escaping
there are probably many reasons for this, but the one thing i know for sure is that the CMOS battery is probably low and/or near dead. Try getting a new CMOS battery.
the air didn't escape they are vacuumed .when it burst the air was going in the tube .just saying
