Use a good medium to dark beer for this recipe, dont use that nasty pisswater beer he's using. Also, season the beer with some of the rub and throw some chopped garlic in there too.
omg my sister made the same thing it turned out so delicious it was last christmas but i couldn't stop laughing at it. the appearance looked like it would run away any minute lol well it's delicious.
I'm going to try this tonight but I have to cook 2 chickens so I hope that works out okay. I guess I will run the center part of the grill and put the birds on the sides.

I wonder how well root beer would work in this case... Our family doesn't promote alcoholism. :D

This is a nightmare... the Culinary institute of America are suggesting we eat paint fumes? No surprises there.

@MilesB1975 but more importantly the BPA that lines the inside of beer cans and is particularly harmful when heated.

I've made beer can chicken with butter under the skin and covered in bacon with homemade blackening seasoning.
It was spectacular.

What temp do you have the grill set to?
Thanks

350-400 degrees should be good. If it's too high, the chicken could burn, dry out, or be overdone on the outside and raw next to the bone.
