i understand this is snakes game and they dont want raiden to completely show him up but wouldnt it make sense for the cyborg who can run uber fast and dosent have nano machiens trying to shut his body down to sprint through the mcrowave hall taking as little damage as possible and fend off the robots in the server room rather then an old man with nanomachines trying to shut him down?
@Majeh116 Actually, I think throughout this game, Snake and surviving chars from MGS1 would mention of fighting to clear up their generation's mistake. Raiden's past (which was traumatic to Raiden) as a child soldier has links to Snake's success as a clone soldier prototype.
It reinforced the idea of Snake wanting to pass on a better future to Raiden, whom he felt like he had already failed since he's now already almost physically inhuman, thanks to Patriots.
@100espada Obviously, Otacon's Mk. III won't be able to fend off the Dwarf Gekko inside GW's server room. Snake's job is to make sure Otacon uploads to virus to GW straight up while fending off any threats that might interfere with the upload.

in this game raiden had a more engaging story for me. his girlfriend kept his son from him and lied about having an affair to get him to turn himself into a machine, just so he could serve the man he thought was the father of rose's child. fucked up.
@footyconcept96 Metal Gear Solid has an amazing story that uses symbolism and real life events to make you realize that there is always something to strive for in life no matter how shitty the situation. While Halo may never have a story THIS amazing, it still has a very good one. Halo story= 7 out of 10 MGS story= I don't know- somewhere in the 1000's. So don't say fuck Halo, say FUCK CoD IN IT'S ASS!

But it looks like he can't. Snake JUST WON'T DIE.
The plot sets him up to be such a bad ass that any life threatening situation just isn't going to be able to finish him off. Hideo must be like "yeah! now I can kill him with giant lazer robots... or wait, no, his friend would totally die saving him. hmm. okay how about lots of smaller machine gun robots? no, he has super camo... huh."
@Fermium1995 Microwaves are special in that they can penetrate through the flesh and cook you from the inside out, normal heat just cooks the outside. If not for Snake's will power and suit he would have been cooked alive like a microwave dinner.
Microwaves as a weapon do exist and the people that have had the misfortune of being test subjects couldn't last longer than 20 seconds. The heat is VERY painful, that Snake stood as long as he did is amazing.
One of only two games where I unashamedly broke out sobbing, at scenes of such emotion. The second time in a game was in Red Dead Redemption. I won't spoil it here, but those of you who have played right through know what I'm talking about. I teared up a bit at the ending of this game, and at the endings of the Kingdom Hearts I and II as well. I'm sure there were others but I can't remember them off of the top of my head right now.
@snakepuppyXIII the ending was really good. The cumulation of the events over the two games, it was really good to see everything work out the way they did. I dunno lol, haven't played it years but still, emotional ending.

@guitarsly111 It's in this scene. He still has his youth, and a life to live. Snake has lived his life and this mission is something he feels he has to do
Raiden would still sustain heavy permanent damage to his biological parts. When Snake tells him to look at his face, it was because Snake was already at the end of his life, and therefore should be the only one to do have to do it. Plus, Snake feels a very strong responsibility that he feels he has to deal with himself, and to not have to drag others down with him, which is why he locks the door, so after Raiden is done fighting, will not pursue Snake.
Shame that it's totally impossible to crawl through a microwave. The water in your body / brain would evapourate scaling your very insides / blood vessels / skin, you'd go blind, you'd suffocate, etc. But still, for a game. I can't lie that I fucking loved it.
Loved all of the console Metal Gear Solids, from 1-4. Best one was 2 and 3 though. Won't lie, I loved playing as Big Boss in number 3. That really defined the game for me.

This was so awesome, I grew up on MGS so seeing Snake that close to death nearly drove me to tears . This game couldn't have ended on more of a perfect note , every scene is amazing .

To all the people who said that the guard would have killed Snake instead of pulling out a machete, Liquid said that everything had turned out as he wanted. He wanted Snake and Otacon to shut down the AIs.

@HumorousLOL That's why Liquid should have equipped his army with rifles or even pistols, i mean, there's a famous Indiana Jones scene where Indy confronts an arabian dude with a sabre, he swings it around and around just to get shot by Indy, all those chicks armed would ended all by: "Let's see how magnetic this lord of lightning is, to our BULLETS!" and boom.

@guitarsly111 It's in this scene. He still has his youth, and a life to live. Snake has lived his life and this mission is something he feels he has to do

Raiden would still sustain heavy permanent damage to his biological parts. When Snake tells him to look at his face, it was because Snake was already at the end of his life, and therefore should be the only one to do have to do it. Plus, Snake feels a very strong responsibility that he feels he has to deal with himself, and to not have to drag others down with him, which is why he locks the door, so after Raiden is done fighting, will not pursue Snake.

I did this on The Boss Extreme without even failing once, probably went into emotional overload. I couldn't let snake die !

Shame that it's totally impossible to crawl through a microwave. The water in your body / brain would evapourate scaling your very insides / blood vessels / skin, you'd go blind, you'd suffocate, etc. But still, for a game. I can't lie that I fucking loved it.
Loved all of the console Metal Gear Solids, from 1-4. Best one was 2 and 3 though. Won't lie, I loved playing as Big Boss in number 3. That really defined the game for me.
