  • Criss Oliva has no equal in his prime except michael schenker criss is due to death the most underrated sadly what he would have still done ===there would be no TSO without criss we miss u criss this is sad stuff about you on the night away

  • Such a powerful voice

  • I love this band! I met them once just before Cris Oliva died. One of my best memories! I remember thinking they could never come back from that, but his is an amazing song/album!

  • Powerful song ever!

  • 5:24 - 7:19 is the best part of the song, specially the last minute of that part

  • "Criss" Isn't dead.

  • Epicnessss

  • 0:46 - 1:06 creepy little bell....!

  • 5 People read sign language.

  • This band will never get the craited they deserve

  • @hippyhauler13 TSO gets the credit Savatage deserves.

  • Savatage4ever

  • EPIC.AS.FUCKKKK.

  • I've once loved this song...couldn't stop listening to it...

    Thank's for uploading!

  • Yeah..

  • Brilliant..thx brother <3

  • So. Who would read a biography on Savatage and their history, and how it goes in to JOP, Circle II Circle, TSO? Or watch a Savatage documentary?

  • @showriter4 me

  • @showriter4 i would!!!!!!

  • @showriter4 I would watch it over, and over, and over again for years (TSO was the first band I ever listened to, and they were the only band i listened to for like 5 and a half years)

  • @showriter4 I would me meh. As awesome as Savatage is, I can easily (and sometimes unfortunately) see a Savatage documentary or interview going left field into a TSO one.

  • still remains my favorite song :) first savatage cd i ever heard and owned and still my favorite of all time

  • first song to feature the multi part harmony that remains their trademark today :) FUCK YES !!!!!

  • Wow...this is Jaw Droppingly good.

I really love the repeated refrains at the end, from "Father can you hear me" onward

  • @marioslagos

whenever people ask me about music , i tell them that there are only 2 songs. Bohemian Rhapsody from Queen , and Chance from Savatage

  • If I ever fought in the UFC this would be my walkout song.

  • how do you DISlike such a masterpiece?

  • SOo strong, as it is soo deep in my soul and spirit!

  • @caseysterly I got to meet the band^_^

  • i wold like to see this song live for once .

and im sure that who had that chance he or she so *******************lucky

  • @f2baod I got to see this song live at the Beethoven's last night tour

  • @caseysterly sooooo jealous, they didn't come to south florida for the spring tour :(

  • They have the best album covers. And they're amazing!

  • 5 disslike!!!!!!!!!!! WHY????????? WTF????????

  • 5 people's finger slipped...i hope. Great song, one of the greatest bands in history.

  • LOVE SAVATAGE!!!!!!!!

  • My friend's don't forget The Hall Of The Mountain King and Gutter Ballet where Jon Oliva ruled with his stunning voice. Not only Zack Stevens(Who is also a great singer)

  • @Thunder1991able Jon Oliva will always be the original voice and a legend. Zak Stevens brought Savatage to the radio, which was why they brought him on. \m/

  • This song has it all!! The best song EVER PERIOD!

  • And then came Trans-siberian Orchestra

  • savatage is amazing!!!!!

    o yeahhh xD! auuuu

  • Andrew Ross sings this great with TSO

  • trans siberian orchestra boosted this songs ratings...

  • long live sssssssaaaaaaaaaaaavvvvvvvaaaaaaattttttttttttaaaaaaaaaaggggggggggggeeeee!!!!!!!!

  • Masterpiece!

  • yeah, savatage is the law, i am be happy with song's of savatage

  • I think they're THE greatest band ever. John Oliva is a genius, his brother Criss was the greatest shreder. After he died John's lyrics got even deeper. I don't know how someone can't like Savatage.

  • fucking great album..tomorrow im goin to buy it!!!

  • @Aegianlulz i went to Tarpon high school with Criss can tell amazing stories .original band was AVATAR with criss, jon and steve

  • Savatage.... love of my life!

  • They always have to have a physically robust man on epic looking album covers. Like they could bench a couch of they wanted. It's funny. it's the same in anime. They're always in peak physical shape.

  • I've Seen TSO in March this year and Chance was the last song they played!!!!!!! It was a fucking great show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • that part from 0:45 to 2:15, brings me the chills!!! God Damn it, WHAT A BAND!!!

  • one of jons idols are queen ... and if you ask me ... jon did a whole lot better than queen ... :-) rock on mr idol !!! R.I.P. Matt la Porte !!! hope you`ll meet criss and midnight and ronnie james over there ... and everyone else who died much too earlie ...

  • Ahh Savatage, a band of such startling creative power. TSO is fun and all but i really want a new Savatage album. This is such a spectacular song.

  • @Leaddevo I've reasently been to a TSO concert with some awesome Savatage numbers at the end :) but TSO and Savatage arent the same and i dont think there will be a new savatage album :(

  • thums up if you're here cuz you here this song at the TSO concert! , and cuz you love TSO and Savatage

  • @israelitaman Did you and I share an arena on Sunday night?

  • @KhylerNevra Unfortunately I'm from Tijuana B.C Mexico u.u, but the last year I saw the first BLN tour at Syracuse, and was awsome! but now I'm a homeless :A just kidding!

  • Comment removed

  • I saw this years BLN tour in Connecticut. It was an amazing show. And then they performed this and it made the show so much better. If I knew they would be playing Savatage stuff Id have saved the battery on my camera... it died half way through the show.

  • Hearing the Trans-Siberian Orchestra play this last night just really made the show that much better.

  • This is so fucking AWESOME!!! So sad that Savatage was always that such underestimated!! But they live further on in "Trans Siberian Orchestra".....

  • this song is a Masterpeice very few can pull off

  • Anyone else try to pick one part of the end part to sing and wind up singing another part?

  • Comment removed

  • Savatagee come back.. :(

  • @Ardic28

they never really left us. new direction - their known now as the "trans siberian orchestra" seen them once, at xmas time. only time their in town, nothing like the originals!!!!!!!! =*(

  • @pacman13434 You should see them in spring. I dont know if they go near you when they do their spring shows, but its unbelievable. Blows their Christmas shows outta the water.

  • Alex Skolnick did a great job on this album, but I will always miss Criss Oliva

  • @metz3962 yea man nothin compares to the original, but Alex kicks alot of ass expecailly in this one and Castles Burning.

  • @metz3962 shit man im tawkin bout the singer..... but still he kicked ass in both them songs too

  • Streets is a real masterpiece, but i fell in love with Dead Winter Dead a long ago... I don't understand why there isn't a monument to Savatage in every city.....

  • Whatever happened to talented, intelligent and innovative musicians?

  • So many Savatage cds...so little money!!!!

  • @bratty171 Thats what that good old cd burner is for

  • @apassion4iron Haha.....Hey, isn't that cheating? Amazon actually has a good selection at pretty cheap prices. I like to have the artwork and the lyrics and all that..

  • @bratty171 so true...

  • streets 10.10 out of 30 yrs of metal and over 1000 albums streets is my number 1, the production on it still puts to shame todays production 20 yrs later, emotional apic master pise, gutter ballet 9/10, dead winter dead 8./10 handful of rain 7./10 they my best 4.

i remmber when criss was killed and after the poor edge of thorns i thought that was it, but somehow they put themselves togther and with jon guiding them and recruitng skolnick they somehow put togther Chance and alone you breathe

  • wauw... mooi...

  • muito boa

  • god god god good

  • 5 people are still music virgins

  • Queen goes metal!!!"Bohemian Rhapsody"of heavy metal...!!!!Epic....!!!!

  • @marioslagos totaly agree !!!!!

  • @marioslagos so true, i often thought that! BUT: Savatage managed to perform live with all the overdub chorus, which Queen unfortunately never managed to....

  • I love'em...simply amazing...

  • I play Guitar for more then 20 Years & in my early Days I was influenced by many Guitar players & Bands but I admit that Savatage was one of the Best . They are underrated for sure.....

  • five people never stood a chance!

  • miticiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

  • mitici mitici

  • Top notch Metal song.

  • i'm talking to the people that don't like the song for god sack hear it first

  • Who the hell thouht that heavy metal would be good mixed with opera would be so good. Love this song.

  • @360doug queen

  • @WesSideCali

Actauly when i first herd this i thought of bohamim how ever it is spelt.

  • @360doug Yeah, the friends that introduced me to savatage is a die hard queen fan.

  • @WesSideCali

I aint herd them in a while.

  • @360doug lol dude, thw whole point of metal is that it has its roots in blues and dark classical music, including loud opera styled vocals... obviously in a bit more brutal way, but no matter it should be apparent :P

  • @atheismtim

I know about early metal having blues influence but alot of genre and artis got rid of it in later years. Im happy when i find a could metal band with a blues influence.

  • vocals sound similar to dee snider at points, love savatage, i was the only one in my circle of friends who listened to them, i remember having a mixed cassette of savatage and king diamond , i wore the hell out..lol please dont respond by telling me how much greater savatge was than twisted , im just drawing a comparison, go look up burn in hell from twisted sister, love both ,

  • the vocals looks like metallica on chorus

os vocais do refrao lambram metallica

  • the scream of guitar at 2:17 gives you the feeling that devil is coming on earth!!!!!

  • They live through TSO!!! God Bless Jon!!!!

  • This is master piece

  • i love savatage alot of their music is VERY RARE. a great band that never got the credit they deserve. own some rare tapes. i'll never part with them

  • i love savatage alot of their music is VERY RARE. a great band that never got the credit they deserve

  • My dad turned me toward Savatage and this is one of my favorite songs of all time!

  • u keep thinking its over well lol

  • fuck me, it just brings back old memories... :) still a great song

  • The best part is 2.15 when the guitar kicks in, it's awesome...

  • Long live savatage, fuck dimmu borgir :)

  • @MrGogobogo Two very different bands there, buddy.

  • Every savatage song is a masterpiece.

  • Some parts of this song just give me chills period. AMAZING! My favorite song by them.

  • I ned a while a while to realise this is actually one song, not three. Anyway, it's an awesome one.

  • Super music, I hope to see Trans-Siberian Orchestra in Holland (The Netherlands) very soon .....

  • Savatage, Blind Guardian, MAnowar my favorite bands as young :)

  • God damn I wish I had known about this band when I was younger

  • Comment removed

  • Awesome fugue near the end! I like the use of 7/4 timing in some of the song.

  • some Savatage songs are just abnormal.. no normal humans could come up with these things..from this album i also like 'watching you fall'

  • @withzyou "Abnormal"??? Have you ever heard Mr. Bungle or Phish? There is definitely a lot more unusual music than Savatage. I actually think they're pretty normal. Paul has always said how he is inspired from Pink Floyd and Queen. Pretty obvious influences.

  • @Jaysin31 i bet you wish you knew what you were talking about huh?

  • @Christian1Aguayo Need you to be more specific. I made a couple points. If you're referring to them both, well, just look up some interviews with Paul and also search some of Phish or Mr Bungle music. You obviously didn't do either.

  • you know this is the song about how the guitarist died and his brother (the singer) wrote this

  • damn cool, i love it :-)

  • I really wish these guys would get back together for another album. It's such a shame that they were so critically ignored; the only time that I saw them get mainstream recognition was after Criss Oliva died, and that was fleeting. Glad that they found success as TSO however, they definitely deserved it for being one of the most creative and talented bands in rock.

  • now savatage dont exist?

  • @troll226 in a way they still do, never know when a new one will be out, but there's always hope as the members are still together in various other bands they've created.

  • It's so great I have troubles believing that I really hear it! o.o

  • Im just getting into this band, and I must say I am impressed. All their songs I've heard so far kick ass. These guys really arre underrated.

  • @AfroMetalMizu THIS BAND DESERVE MORE! I AGREE WITH YOU! LONG LIVE SAVA!

  • @AfroMetalMizu

the are not underrated. but an era died with the loss of criss and later with savatage splitting. now the spirit is carried on by John Olivas Pain. and now, just a few days ago Matt LaPorte died, he played guitar in John Olivas Pain and was a very good friend of John. Another hard hit in the face of John Oliva.. i pray that he will still carry on with his powerful music.... with his art! RIP Matt and Criss!

  • if Savatage was a single entity... I would want to have its baby!

  • What is a queen? Who the fuck is Freddy Mercury? And what the hell is a bohemian rhapsody?

  • @fbhn lol, I love Queen but Savatage did take it to next level.

  • @fbhn Let's not get exited now and say empty words...and no comparison can be done!

This band(savatage) is so great that they put an epic song in no. 3 of the cd if i'm not mistaken which normally a band would save for the last track to leave you off good!!!

  • δισκάρα και κομματάρα!

  • @Atartee pes taaaaaaaaaaaaaaa pw eixa na to akousw apo to sxoleio!! ta spaeiiiiiiii

  • nossa perfeito essa música e este cd é um dos clássicos junto c/ hall of the montain king. volta savatage por favor !!!

  • This is simply one of the best song of all time.

  • great banddd

  • My arms are covered with goosebumps.

  • This song is what helps define terms like "talent" and "inspired".

  • In the first 20 seconds of listening to this....I glimpsed into the gates of heaven. And what I saw was paradise. Throughout the rest of this song, I left paradise, but perfection stayed with me, in the form of this song.

  • This Song kills. The whole Band kills. And the Mountainking is here to stay!

  • That song is from a different planet

  • genial!

  • actually, there are too many differences to power metal to call it that.

I like the term progressive metal, I also consider Porcupine tree and dream theater being progressive metal. They have something typical about their sound in common though I can't really put my thumb on what it is...
