Try tuning it slow, either that or get string locks on the guitar tuning device. What happend to you always happend to me. If you tune it slower than the strings have more time to adjust to the new tuning. It worked for me!

Sometimes, if you want to play the root of F chord you can use thumb on the 6th string. It's called "Thumb Technique".

I am getting one of these soon, I am curious to a thing with tuning, would you say its easier to tune the regular 6 strings first as normal, then tune the other 6 ?

But, I need some advice. Would you recommend me just getting two sets of 6 strings to put on my 12 string, or should I buy a set specially made for 12 string guitars?

What string gauges are you using? everytime i try to tune the octave G-string always snaps..and its like the third time, and im tired of switching out the string everytime.

You don't use as many barre chords, which can fatigue the fretting hand other than that, just like playing a 6 string

I just bought a Songbird 12 string about 2 months ago and put on a set of Martin silk and steels on it. Beautiful sounding strings, they smoothen the sound out just nicely.
