It is a matter of point of view. Some people wish to concentrate only on the sorrow- some wish to see the ever so brief moments of happiness.
The meaning of the song remains the same. The meaning of the anime remains unchanged.
WTF that is a disgrace to japanese and you insulted me and my culture. This is not happy and funny but a serious and sad story. Please consider the writers thoughts an other peoples feelings.
@darkcorex929 I sincerely apologize. I know this is a sad serious true story but it had some very happy moments in it which is what this AMV was trying to capitalize on. I did not intend this as a joke nor to offend anyone or their culture. I love this movie which is why I was trying to honor it with an AMV. I guess I failed though. Sorry Studio Ghibli T_T

I think the song fits perfect :) This is such a sad movie, but I think the song shows the happy moments between the siblings. I love it!
