I do admit to the irony, but lots of people eat turkey on thanksgiving and in almost all cases is a tradition, and she does have family who are probally expecting turkey for diner.

Just when I started to think she was an okay person.. not as a vice president, but as a person. As as vegan I will never defend her again. I understand people eat turkey and thats happens and its horrible, but as a person she should have cared what would have been seen by viewers, kids etc. if anything comes out of it hopefully there will be less cruelty on the table this year.

If you "could" kill and eat a "raw turkey" with your bare hands and teeth, then guess what? You'd be an actual carnivore.
If you need killing weapons, cutting knives, cooking fire and grocery stores, then guess what? It's unnatural for you to be eating animals -- which is why most of the meat stays in your lower intestines. About a pound every 10 years, I'd say.

Did you even listen to what was said? Palin's own office said that she was asked if that was what she wanted for a background and she said "No worries". She's not bright enough to know that it would look bad to be standing in front of turkeys being slaughtered. She's a national disgrace.
