  • @stvnix71 thanks so much for posting :-)

  • Fantastic video from the Tusk tour. Saw 2 shows on the Tusk tour, needless to say, I'll never forget them. Sisters of the Moon is classic Stevie Nicks vocals mixed w John McVie's bass. If you listen closely to many of Stevie's FM compositions, you'll find John McVie's bass intertwining w Stevie's vocals (Dreams and Angel immediately come to mind). Lindsay's guitar riffs make her songs come alive. Awesome video, thx stvnix.

  • @gnagh you know, you are right about Johns bass and how it intertwines with stevies vocals. never really noticed that before but now that you mention it and i think about it, you are correct. Sara is another great example of that. i really think fleetwood mac was the perfect band for her music and lindsey really was/is her best producer in my opinion.

  • @fundies2 There's another great live performance video in which Stevie's voice intertwines perfectly w the rhythm section (J McVie & M Fleetwood) that you've got to listen to. It's Stevie's "Gold Dust Woman." There's a live version from FMs 1977 Tour of Japan. It was posted by Flaming Crystal. Check it out....it'll blow u away!!!

  • @gnagh oh, i watch that performance all the time. its my favorite performance of gold dust woman. its very intense.

  • Stevie Nicks Rocks! Magical Lady that can capture an entire audience in the palms of her hands! She is legendary as Goddess of Rock N Roll!

  • Saw them play SOTM on this (Tusk) tour in Omaha ...and remember thinking they were highly animated. For some reason I think they might've also done it on the Mirage tour in Lincoln a couple years later but I could be wrong about that. I did locate a VHS copy of this tour for sale and have it in my possession though haven't watched for a while. Would love to see them pull this out of the mothballs on a future tour. BTW, they were even better in the last few years than back in the 70/80s.

  • tour next year

  • This is my fave song of Fleetwood Mac's and this version is fantastic, especially Lindsay's solo. I've never seen them live as I've only recently got into their music so I missed their tour in 2009 in the UK. Does anyone know if the Mac will be touring again?? I do hope I haven't missed my only chance to see them live.

  • I still love this live version... better than the one on "Tusk" if the truth is to be told.

I think it's because the lyric changes to 'But does anyone know MY name'

  • an eerily view of Stevie~~~of herself written in third person which she loves to do and drove Linds NUTS. It's a perfect song about her life at the time. And the people they love her but still they are the most cruel.....that is sad. You can be rich, famous, beautiful, but still have those critics and hanger oners who try to use you while smiling right to your face and stabbing you in the back. I imagine she encountered many of those~~especially doing those yrs. Love ya, Stevie. There is only 1!

  • I'm still surprised this wasn't as big a hit as "Rhiannon". They're almost like companion pieces.

  • @stvnix71 I have not seen Stevie do this song in years. Does she not do it all any more or only certain parts of the country?

  • I rented this video back in 1991. I wish I had never returned it. It was a stellar show. I later grabbed The Mirage tour VHS but it is a somewhat displaced version of the band. They seem to really be into it here.

  • this is my favorite version of this song. thank you so much for posting it!! I hope she'll surprise us on a future tour with this song :)

  • This is an outstanding performance of SOTM, I love the audience reactions, this must be one of the reasons Rolling Stone magazine crowned Stevie the 'Queen of Rock' in 1981, along with her solo performances of course!

  • Hmmmm.....flashback time for me watching this video. I must admit I used to love cracking this song up while high back in the 80s. The Lindsay guitar solo near the end of the song is particularily memorable for me. This is Stevie's Rhiannon II.

  • 4:10 on is my fav part of this video!!!!

  • The performance in this vid is so much better than any of the other live versions of this song I've seen posted on YouTube. Thanks for this vid. This is a great performance.

  • There's nothing better than John McVie's bass line....behind Stevies enchanting and hauntingly phenomenal vocals. They're the best band of all time here!

  • Can't get enough of this! This song really came to life on stage, loving Stevie - and Lindsey's guitar playing is just perfect. Christine doesn't get much screentime though does she?! Never seen or heard a bad live version of this, wish they'd played it on their recent tours. Thanks for posting.

  • This is AMAZING.

  • Awesome! I have wanted to see live performances of this song for a long time now

  • this is my favorite of stevie's songs.

  • I have to agree with you on this. It's amazing, especially this version. I love how Stevie adds the extra lyrics in. I'm going to use the lyrics in a collage I'm making in sociology, actually.

  • I love the eerie intro to this song... it's AWSOME... Tusk all the way!!!!! ;-0

  • Who is sitting on the rest on the concert!

  • Sorprendente versión en directo de, junto a sara y beautiful child, las 3 mejores canciones del Tusk. Aunque me sigo quedando con la versión del tour '82...

  • great song and video! thanks for posting !

  • I wasn't apologizing to you, you're done here,a non-factor. I was apologizing to the individual who posted the video. Do you need help with basic english-grammer?

  • This is absolutely FM at their peak!

Buckingham Nicks made beautiful music together.

These really were some of Stevie's best lyrics-

"Intense Silence as she walked in the room, her black robes trailing...and a black widow spider makes more sound than she....

she was dark at the top of the stairs..

    she called to me..

will you be my sister? they like to wrap you in velvet, but does anyone

    know my name?

And so we make our choices, when there is not choice.."

    Really magical concert/audience.

  • you are so right!

  • from 4:10 to the end of the song the group just kicks a** nad the crowd reacts to it, i do too, i love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i love them both. ican relate to lindsay being scorned by stevie, i got over my contempt and so did he. beautiful woman like stevie can turn you upside down. but in the video they BOTH contribute to the crowd equally, i love his sounds (especially on 'im so afraid') and also stevie' actions on stage just freak me out.

  • lindsey does not know "jack shit" little pill pusher!

  • I agree with you 100 percent; but I won't be insulted on a personal level especially on an open platform FOR NO REASON nonetheless. If it happens again we'll deal with it accordingly; but until then I intend on watching the clip like everybody else. I apoligize to YOU only and intend on showing you respest.

  • not all white trash girls like mickey d's! i love eating there with me friends!

  • No Mcdonald's for me. I guess we'll have to agree to disagree.(lol) Have you seen the Mac on this tour? They still are great; but i wish Christine was still there, I love her too. I only met Lindsey and Stevie, I never met John, Christine, or Mick.

  • i love this song!

  • whom is this "jache" ?

  • i don't know...if you express your opinion on here, and she doesn't agree with you, she then insults you on a personal level. no class.

  • oh, i see.............

  • Nice comeback. For the record-I never, not even once, insulted you on a personal level, NOT EVEN ONE TIME. I have more class than that. But since you thought it was necessary to take it to a personal level and say all those nasty things to me on my personal email, when you've never even met me personally---I feel compelled to say this.......

  • You don't know nearly as much as I do about Fleetwood Mac, as I have ALL the Fleetwood Mac albums even before Stevie and Lindsey joined in January of '75. What you do is "mimic" and pretend that you know Fleetwood Mac because you like Stevie; but have you no knowledge, whatsoever, what comes with creating, fashioning, and mixing down and producing a record.

  • @rockytewky yes but the mac way back in the 60's never made it big or had a gold record until stevie joined! she put them BACK on the map!

  • Comment removed

  • I do indeed have class. You're the only person on this thread who contests, challanges, and argues with everything I write on here. Nobody else does. I know what i'm talking about when it comes to Fleetwood Mac. Leave it alone now. Thank you.

  • There is a reason Lindsey wants everything his way...because the others around him are clueless...why else would Mick Fleetwood willingly let Lindsey take over as the boss? Believe me, Mick Fleetwood knew Lindsey can handle the role of "Producer" or else he would have let Richard Dashut and Ken Calliat do everything. Everyone knows Rich and Ken were only hired to be "an extra set of ears". Nice language.

  • what's your problem? why did you block my comments? i wasn't "attacking" you or anyone else per se. why are you so defensive with me? i met Stevie at a book signing in New York City a couple months ago. I love Stevie. I know her better than you do. I guess we can't express ourselves, is that it?

  • Comment removed

  • I don't know Stephanie Nicks personally. I never said I did. What I said was- I met her twice in person in Atlantic City in 2003 and a couple months back in New York at the book signing. I did say I know much much more about her life than you do. That is only important in this case because you contradicted every little said I said on here, otherwise I never would have even thought to brought it up.

  • OOh, and how crazy's the crowd here?!!!!!! GREAT

  • I love Stevie and Lindsey... He is for sure the real genius of the Mac, but God, Stevie got that thing, I don't know what it is, but people love her, and I'm sorry but Lindsey doesn't have it... They are both great, and I love Fleetwood Mac that way, with Stevie, Lindsey and Christine (yeah, the current question isn't who's the best, Stevie or Lindsey now ?, but can the Mac stay the greaaat Mac without Chris ? :/)

Whatever, rock on FM, and thanks for posting it :D

  • Incredible concert, gives me chills everytime

  • I wish I was their ,best song ever!!!

  • I wish I was there. the best song ever

  • This is the best Stevie song. I saw her on 4/15 in Philly. She can't do it anymore though. Lindsey was the dominant performer no question. He was at the front of the stage much much more than Stevie was. There were times during Lindsey's songs where she walks off stage. Fleetwood Mac is still around because of Lindsey for sure.

  • I agree that Lindsey was amazing, but in terms of Stevie being offstage, well, in all fairness, she had a few more costume changes than Lindsey, yes?

  • You can tell the difference over the years. In the late 70s it was 55% Stevie and 45% Lindsey. Now it's 85% Lindsey and 15% Stevie. She doesn't play an instrument, can't hit notes anymore, hasn't contributed a good Fleetwood Mac song since "Gypsy" then got all screwed up on Cocaine and Klonopin and completely missed the entire 9 months worth of recording of the 1987 "Tango in the Night" album because of her drug rehabs.

  • (all the good newer Fleetwood Mac songs from "Say You Will" are Lindsey's songs), (and to top it off she got really heavy). He's the main attraction now, he's the glue holding it together, his recent solo career gave him a mini boost with 2 pretty decent albums in 3 years-Stevie's last solo album was really really bad. Lindsey is the band's main producer. Even back then, Stevie would just write songs like "Dreams, Rhiannon, and Gold Dust Woman" on paper;

  • i saw a video on this site showing stevie nicks putting on makeup and in the background lindsey is doing "coke"! he was wiping his nose and we all know it was not snot! coke baby!

  • You're right about that! they all got high around that time, no doubt about it. on the other Sister's of the Moon video, from the Mirage Tour you see a close up of Lindsey's face where he looks all geeked up, high as a kite! That was one of their encore's that night, so i bet they all did a blast backstage before comming back out for the last few numbers I guess, lol.

  • Lindsey grew out of his recreational use of cocaine, where Mick ans Stevie really struggled with their addictions where it started to affect them financially. The big fight between Stevie and Lindsey in Christine's house in 1987 stemmed from Lindsey not wanting to tour because they were not functioning socially as a band or as friends.

  • Stevie and Mick insisted on having the tour because they started to run low on money. Lindsey's recreational drug use never affected his finances; but yes he got high like the rest of them, no doubt about it.

  • Stevie's drug problem followed her well into the late 80s. One time, during her solo act, she fell on stage. At that point she voluntariliy checked into Betty Ford to get her life back in order. She's doing great now (thank God); but had a rough time during her addictions with cocaine and klonopin. I saw the Mac last weekend in Atlantic City! My 23rd Mac show. They're still awesome!

  • (all the good newer Fleetwood Mac songs from "Say You Will" are Lindsey's songs), (and to top it off she got really heavy). He's the main attraction now, he's the glue holding it together, his recent solo career gave him a mini boost with 2 pretty decent albums in 3 years-Stevie's last solo album was really really bad. Lindsey is the band's main producer. Even back then, Stevie would just write songs like "Dreams, Rhiannon, and Gold Dust Woman" on paper;

  • but it was Lindsey who took those lyrics and fashioned them into quality records by his arrangements, studio mixing, adding direction, precise harmonies etc. Just look on the back of the Tusk record where is says Produced by Fleetwood Mac-with very special thanks to Lindsey Buckingham Those are the exact words on the back of that album. Lindsey was the driving force behind the bands success, she was just the pretty rock star.

  • I would never deny that Lindsey is a musical genious and a brilliant producer, but I wouldn't downplay Stevie's skills as a lyricist, nor would I conclude that her stage presence that was essential to Fleetwood Mac's sucess is diminished simply because she is older now and, as you've pointed out, perhaps put on a few pounds. I guess art is subjective - I loved her tracks on Say You Will and I was thrilled to see them both on this last tour.

  • Hey guys~

I did get to meet Stevie at her cd signing last week and again 2 days later at acd listening party in NYC. I am still on cloud 9 and everything I ever imagined her to be is exactly what she is. She is magical, genuine, warm and very welcoming and she cares!! I have a whole new level of admiration and respect for her, it is an experience I will NEVER forget!

  • i'm really happy for you! beat time of your life? right! always cheris it! you lucky child!

  • i'm sorry but i do see the furture! never asked for it but was given the gift!

  • I love this clip but I do like the 'Mirage' tour version better, Stevie danced and moved around more in that version! :=)

  • Thanks for sharing.......I love Sisters of the Moon !!!....I LOVE STEVIE....SHE IS A ROCK GODDESS......HAIL QUEEN STEVIE !!!!!!!!

  • Great video, it's a shame Stevie can't hit the high notes anymore I would love to see her perform this song today.

  • I wish Stevie would have done SOTM on this tour. I really enjoyed Storms though. Did anyone catch any shows this tour? I wentto Nassau Coliseum and Madison Square Garden which was NUTS. What an amazing show

  • Like "Rhiannon" and "I'm So Afraid", the live version of "Sister Of The Moon" takes it to a entirely new level! Excellent video, thanks stvnix71.

  • I love when Stevie goes totally wild and the crowd do too. Definitely on par with the Mirage performance. It's amazing how she gets 'possessed' by this song.

  • In the third and the fourth minute of this clip Lindsey tears that Rick Turner guitar to shreds. No pick...just ripping it to pieces!!!! Rock-on Lindsey...the Mac-attack is back in March '09!

  • stevie sure had that crowd going! could lindsey ever do that?! i do'nt think sooooooooooo!

  • I thought nothing could top the Mirage version, I was wrong. Fucking amazing. Thankyou so much for sharing this.
