haha my dad bought me a .22 when i was 5 (we're big into shooting) you should consider obtaining membership to a gun club and maybe purchasing an anshutz if your gonna get into 22's but there big money
ok your all worng they dont use a 223 for a sniper system im in the us army and im issued a m4 in 5.56 aka 223 the max effective range is 600 meters the smallest round snipers use is the 308 and thats a hell of a lot bigger than a 223 and the largest being the 50cal
The Israeli army use the Ruger .22LR with optics as a small sniper rifle they say to kill infected dogs, Im not sure if those infected dogs start with P and in tinian. Some military units use a .223 for marksman shots on operations (Not being used by a sniper), but I believe your correct sniper rifles in the US are not smaller than .308 or 7.62
And so are you. The 223/5.56 is effective well over 600 meters more like 1000 to 1500 meters. Your M4 being used as a section weapon is effective with its iron sights and light optical sights up to 600 meters, it doesnt mean the round isnt still effective after this distance.
@crossinU Yes I know thats why I wrote it in that format, .223/5.56 for people who don't know. It's the same as saying .308/7.62 But although the cal is the same size nato rounds pack more of a punch.
.223 And .308 is the English way or imperial way or measuring round size.
5.56 And 7.62 is the metric way of measuring round size.
There is no difference. When you see NATO written on a box of ammo, it just means it is the standard size taken up by countries in the NATO packet. I worked in CAR a none NATO country and we had NATO ammo.
@cdo29mike nvm i dont how I can explain it basically if you fired 10,000 rounds of NATO ammo through a .223 there could potentially be problems, by the way YOU said NATOS pack more of a punch and on a later comment you said there was no difference. I totally dont mean any offence by the way.
@crossinU None taken. Try to explain it whichever way you want. The round size is no different, but companies who make ammo for the military, NATO or some police forces put more propellant in. Again the size of round is no different. We've fired NATO 9mm rounds through browning pistols when training more than 10000 and not one problem.
@crossinU the .223 is the same sized round as the 5.56 the difference is the load of powder in the cartridge the 5.56 has a more powerful powder in it than the .223 im not absolutely certain on this but i am fairly sure
22lr are cool but if your going to scope out, sling, and bi pod out a small round rifle a 17 HMR IS A BETTER CHOICE. 17 HMR WILL GO THE DISTANCE! check them out. i do suggest a MARLIN and JOIN THE NRA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Eminem, I'm pretty sure that's NOT how you de-cock it. It sounds like the action is firing off when you pull the trigger and close the bolt. You should read the manual just to make sure, but looks dangerous to rely on that as decocking.
Sorta. The caliber has nothing to do with it. Some air rifles/pellet guns fire .22 projectiles, but some .22LR (.22LR being the name of the cartridge) rifles are just referred to as "22's" for simplicities safe.
When you use the bi pod to shoot with, never let the leg retract while aiming at a target (an animal) or that bitch is going to run like hell. (Depending on what your hunting)
.22 = cheap fun! Check out my Armscor rifle. I also have a Remington bolt action .22 and a Marlin Model 60. Screw the haters. I pack a Glock .40 ... My dad has an AR... roommate has a .357 mag. I'm in the market for a .308. I still love my .22s as you can see from my vids. I will post a new vid soon including some of those other guns.
yea but when i hit 12 and could finally hunt so i got my uncles old .270 and that is way more fun to shoot then a .22. When i shoot at targets taped to old trees the bullets just rip up the tree and its satisfying to see all the holes once your done. So next Christmas ask for a bigger rifle.
not that much more fun to shoot and a helluva lot more expensive to shoot too. shooting a 22, and a bigger caliber gun is the same thing, except the bigger cal leaves a bigger hole in whatever ur shooting.
i know its expensive thats why the only time i get to shoot at an actual target is in the beginning of fall when i get it sighted in for hunting im just sayin its more satisfying to shoot a bigger gun ill always love the old .22 though
You got your M1600 yet? Check mine out. One of my youtube friends is getting one and I have another guy asking me about them. You should make a vid and we'll have a little m1600 thing goin' on.
I like that bipod, do you have the make and model? I have a .22 LR and have been checking reviews for bipods. How does that bipod attach? single screw?

If your suggesting that the biggest sniper round in existence is the .50 your wrong I think the biggest is 20mm correct me if im wrong please.
mikey41297 2 years ago
he means the 50 cal is the largest issued in the us army.
airman01991 2 years ago
arnt those used for anti tank rifles?
asimonds422 1 year ago
The 20mm round and .50 caliber are both used as anti material rifles.

they dont use a 22 they use a remington m24 for long range about 850 yards
craker199 2 years ago
This same rifle is used by US Special Forces in Iraq and Afghanistan. You can get 3000 yard kills. He real got a deal and it's pretty cool !!!!!!!!!!
12thSSGrenadier 2 years ago
Your full of shit. Special forces wouldn't use a .22lr plus I would be amazed if someone got a 3000 yard kill with a .22.
