It was sad to see one of the greatest leaders ever to resign from office. Its always controversial for a black man to stand for what he believe and ultimately for what is right. I learned alot from Dr. Herenton during his his career as mayor.

Memphis is horrible, i have been living here my whyole 21 years, and Herenton is the worst person i have ever seen, he always wants to cry racism like a little BIT$# last time i checked, white people are the minority in memphis and what oppression for blacks is he talkin bout. the whole nation is in a deppression dumb ass. he spend more time and money gettin oput of trouble then he do helping memphis. thank god he gone racist bit$^

It's hard to listen to the Commercial Appeal and people here talk about how wonderful King Willy and his vision have helped Memphis. Seems like children used to be able to play on the street, but not anymore since the Bloods are having gang initiations and shooting up streets like the last 3 weeks. Nothing like having a bullet pass through your pants leg makes you think about your choice of living.

Well, If this old dude is race-obsessed, what do you call what Dick Hackett did to this city. When I got here all the monies was spent in one part of the city, and the downtown area was a ghost town. See whites don't have to talk about race, just watch what they do!!!!! This black man will let you know what is on his mind. There is a God! Thank the Lord Almighty, I never thought I would see this day. I want Memphis to get the best mayor of any other city in the world. I'm tired of self serving politicians that watch their cities decay. I want a real leader that will lift us up and take us to a new level where people can feel safe again going to the mailbox. God bless Memphis and please people vote and vote wisely. Get involved and make a difference and bring hope and change to Memphis, TN.
