L.A. Gunns! haha Tom G. said he'd felt the band had gotten too pretentious and serious and that's when Cold Lake emerged, I bought it at that point as I was a major NEW fan at the time, so I got into it regardless, but with Vanity /Nemesis they felt to return to just hard and heavy, in your face. They did like the 80s Hair band scene but weren't looking to become that style, Cold Lake is the most like it I guess. Yet to pick up his book Are You Morbid, but it's on my list
I guess peaple won't be dissing this thrash record if it wasn't for the first 2 releases of their.Oh well pretention takes it toll I presume.Just think of "Into the pandemonium".That LP had a cleaner sound as well.Does anyone know what's behind "Cold Lake" s production and release? Making reference to the glam approach.
wow...Celtic Frost was just lost on this record...
I remember being all amped when this came out, but when I looked at the back of the record cover, and saw them all looking like 'glam-rock,' posing and looking all gay and whatnot, I put it right back.
Never bought, or even downloaded this one, and watching this video, I'm glad.
Jesus, they look like Winger!
And this is SO WEAK compared to 'Morbid Tales,' 'Emperor's Return' or 'To Mega Therion.'
@TezinaBenzina They remastered and performed with the new lineup, going back to the best songs from Cold Lake, IIRC, for Parched with Thirst and Dying. Tom Fischer said that he was dismayed with BC Rich guitars from his own few he used, but he failed to realize he was playing a Japanese import and not a USA Handmade, there is a striking difference among them!
cold lake makes for great background for a pool game downtown with all the pussies i suppose. morbid tales made good background for D+D games. the new album was ok for freezing your ass off alone at nights in the alleyways...
Awesome. Classic video. Back in 1994, I bought a compilation VHS video called Doomsday News released by Noise/Futurist and this was one of the videos on it along with Jewel Throne and other videos by bands like Kreator, Voivod, Rage, Mordred, Coroner and Running Wild among others. Classic. Hail Celtic Frost.
"Vanity/Nemesis" suffered an opinion of "faggot" album because it was released right after "Cold Lake". It's a pity. It was a great album IMHO. Maybe not a milestone like "To Mega Therion" or "Into The Pandemonium" but still great.
Man you really got no life just go go online and say "fucking posers" thats pretty sad. And judging by your repsonse you have probably done so many times. Celtic frost is a great band and if you dont like it? then stfu
Goog song...too bad they fagged out and went glam for Cold Lake. I should NEVER see a hot pink guitar strap in a CF video...EVER!!! Monotheist will see CF rise from the ashes. Just wait and see.
