  • Im looking to buy a roundback electro acoustic guitar< I have a very bad and cheap electric guitar< and an okay classical guitar. Im not allowed to keep all of then in the small space i have, so im thinking of buying a electro acoustic guitar becasuse it does everything. Can i plug it into my electric guitar amp to get some bluesy distortion or do i need pedals etc?

  • you fucking ninja!

  • i got a question. when get an electric acoustic guitar and an amp, can u just buy and install pedals just to make different sounds for the guitar right?

  • @shydude1111 of course, the functioning is exactly the same

  • what kind of strings you use man? i dont play electric, and i only play acoustic, and i play these kinda things, but since long since i had them kind of strings. what bendable and nice sounding type or kind of strings for acoustic do u suggest? thanks man :)

  • @pepehorhae I was actually using kinda-cheap, standart .10 acoustic strings... u can use electric .09 strings that are easier to bend, but it won't have a full sound when not amplified

  • tell them metal is mostly omprised of christian bands...

  • @druminggood Hehe, tried but didn't work, but there's no problem with em' now ^^

  • best distorted ive ever heard from a acoustic and a cheap multi effects unit?

    ??????????

  • put electric strings on. put 9 it will be easier for you to bend

  • nice hair mate

  • just out of intrest... do you distort an acoustic just to challenge yourself or do you actually prefer shredding on an acoustic as opposed to an electric ?

  • @TOM71292 None of both, in that time actually I didn't have an electric guitar cause my metal-hating overchristian parents wouldn't allow me to. Thank Thor I have an electric now :)

  • @alastorskye How the crap do you bend on an acoustic?!

  • @GuitarFreak1901 just push it hard xD

  • @alastorskye You should have showed them Red or Skillet or Demon Hunter

  • The coolest acoustic guitarist in the world...

Too bad it doesn't have a whammy bar...

  • it honestly almost sounds too good....

  • what gauge strings are you useing?

  • what kind of amp do you have?

    Sounds extraodinary

  • @rapateckh a Marshall MG30DFX (30 watts), but most of my sound comes from my zoom 606 pedal

  • dammit! im pretty sure when you're playing an electric guitar you definitely dominate!

  • Fucking killed it man! This was fucking sick!

  • So awesome

  • Fucking Awesome!

  • If I plug my electric acoustic (piezo pickup) into my Roland 40XL, how do I get it to have no feedback if I put distortion?

    Thanks, and great playing.

  • @gutenschneider check the answer i gave to @sk8raven!!

  • Tell me! How did you get such a great sound without tons of reverberation?!?! I have to know!

  • @sk8raven it's not simple... my pedal helps a lot cause' it has a noise supression function, i also usually play with the guitar volume at 1/4, even a bit less, and get most of the sound from the pedal and the amp. And yes, even with all that, it still feedbacks, when I don't play the strings... at least if I'm too close to the amp or turn it's volume up too much. Hope it helped!

  • U Rock , Man !!! Fuck Yeah...Metal has been reborn !!! Fuck right !!

  • Nice man :D You destroyed that guitar \m/

  • buy a washburn d10 or a maestro "gibson" both are $100 on ebay and sound decent washburn sounds better dont buy a squire acoustic or first act but I wish i was in the vid to here the fullness of this guitar it probably sounded tubey

  • sounds great man i like how it sounds diferent from a common electric guitar it sounds warmer very good work

  • could I do something like that with Boss DS-1 and Marshall MG101FX amp ?

very nice playing by the way )

I think after practice with acoustic shred you could become shred pro with el.guitar ! (I wanna do the same ;D )

  • at the end of this, did you guitar quit and leave for vacation? i hope it did, it deserves it lmao

  • my god! you're like the next jimi Hendrix you are amazing! :)

  • ERES FENOMENAL!!!!

(Thumbs up if you think Acoustic guitars > Electric guitars)

  • sir thank you for relieving me whew. Its just i have to play in a few weeks at my school Nothing else matters by Metallica and i had to see if i can play with distortion on an acoustic-electric guitar. You have made my day :D

    p.s. awesome shredding

  • awesome metal shredding on the acoustic...jerk now you make me wish i could do that....so is this possible using a processor and a line 6 amp.

  • dude try playing bullet for my valentine's the last fight's guitar solo...on ur acoustic guitar

  • whats the difference between playing an acoustic distorted and playing an electric distorted ?

  • @ramiabuhamra1 it's harder on the acoustic because the strings are thicker and more tense

  • @alastorskye ahh ok but i never knew u could actually distort an acoustic lol

  • @alastorskye i wonder if it would sound decent with electric guitar strings then.....uless he is using electriv strings..?

  • I never thought you could make an acoustic electric guitar sound like that.

  • I can close my eyes and i would honestly think that this is an electric guitar

  • The only bad thing about playing an Acoustic electric guitar on distortion is that you will need a product called a feedback buster. Distortion no way will harm an acoustic electric, but you will get feedback without the rubber sound hole covers called "feedback busters"

  • shit man that takes some serious skill well done :)

  • it's the first electric guitar O.o

  • OMFG Jimi is back!

  • What kind of strings do you have on there? Probably nothing too heavy, I'm guessing. I currently have .012s on my acoustic, and I can barely do half-step bends. Moving back up to my preferred .013s, though, since the .012s sound too thin. They're much easier to play, but they don't bring out the richness of my acoustic like a thicker set does. Oddly, they're DR, and some folks on UG recommended them, but they don't sound as good as my usual D'Addario EXPs.

  • you can definitely hear the openness of the acoustic body

  • Woah, I never thought an acoustic can sound like this!

  • that tone sounds good.. what guitar is that? i'm looking to buy one myself

  • @violentsa a cheap acoustic guitar, was worth around US$140... but believe me, the magic here is made by the zoom pedal and the marshall amp

  • @alastorskye you just gave me the confidence to try some vintage fuzz pedals with my acoustic..just need to instal a pickup lol awesome video

  • THat distortion tone is really good.

  • if he can do this on an acoustic, then he must be BEAST with an electric!

  • id really like to hear some of your music, sounds really original

  • Someone with downsyndrome watched this.

  • i know you broke many a string on that acoustic electric doing that shreading. tell the truth. i know i did. :p

  • That was awesome.

  • dont abuse your acoustic guitar.... this should be played on an electric

  • @TOM71292 i did this before i had my electric

  • @alastorskye Holy shit, you learned how to play metal on an acoustic? That's fucking awesome. Damn good tone for what you had to work with, too. Props, dude.

  • @TOM71292 Why is abuse? I Like the feel of an acoustic, I don't see why this is wrong.

  • @TOM71292 you need to chill man. hendrix practically chewed his guitar for petes sake.

  • @TOM71292 shut the f up man!

  • @TOM71292 How would it be abuseing it?

  • you are really fantastic, please tell me wath you use for it? stompboxes or digital pedal board?

  • @ganneck a digital pedal

  • holy fuck xD

  • you are simply fantastic, wy do you not make a tutorial to teach us how to regulate distortion parameters to make it? every tima I try to do it a big disaster come out to me

  • HAHA I LOVE THIS!!!!

  • holly SHIT! JIMI HENDRIX!!!

    haha nice dude!!!!

  • wow whats the diference from an electric guitar? :S

  • Have u learnt sweeps on acoustic only?

If yes den plz give me sum tutorials n tips..

  • @SpiderSid007 just start slowly with simple patterns, then keep increasing the speed, and remember, the right hand is as important as the left, specially in sweeps, so good luck!! ^^

  • Are u using electric guitar strings?

  • @ficsss nope, i'm using .10 acoustic metal strings

  • I'd really like to hear some Metallica riffs like this.

  • wow! i didn't know acoustic guitars could sound like an electric guitar like this! this is great! :D

  • Very sick chops man, keep thrashing.

  • Wohow!

I thought distorted acoustics were gonna sound like C-rap.

    But you proved me wrong!

    Great playing, you've got style.

Also, what did you use? Just a built-in mic?

  • @LoveGuitarsNBruises

    yep, just a built-in mic

and thanks for the comment, it motivates me to keep playing :)

  • @alastorskye Well, if that motivates you to keep on playing, let me comment some more, haha ;-)

  • awesome! but it sounds a little bit dim

  • that hard to believe that tone is coming from an acoustic..sick shit dude!

  • lol this doesnt look natural

  • Just magnificent! The tone sounds so full! My acoustic guitar has a kind of a piezo pickup right at the end of the neck (attached to the hole). Will it sound good?

  • @CubeableGame i have on idea on how will it sound... just try it!!

  • @CubeableGame i have no idea on how will it sound... just try it!!

  • That tone kicks ass.

  • what kind of pedal did you use to get that sound?

  • me voy acomprar el mic

  • ITS PIEZO

  • Damn!

what effects do you have at play in that?

  • I want your guitar.

  • you rock :D so what i need to do this is the marshall amp. the zoom pedal, and a guitar with a built in mic? plus the skill

    ^^

  • Awesome job on the bends!

  • youre great man. i love your hair too XD

  • loool xddd

    i'm growing it :)

    thanks ^^

  • wow acoustic electricss sound just as great as electrics. In this case better than lots ive heard.

  • If I didn't see it, I probably wouldn't believe it

  • genial---> COOL!!! saludoss

  • What kind of pickup? A piezo?

  • acoustic guitars don't use pickpus

  • yeah dude some have a pickups right in front of the bridge under the wood

  • @alastorskye SO HOW YOU PUT DISTORTION WOOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @alastorskye it has to have pickups....or else you wouldn't be able to use an amp....

  • @blakeypoo65 from what I heard acoustic guitars use either microphone receiver type pickups or peizo pickups

  • @SoulStatement either way, its still some type of electronic pickup, and i'm pretty sure that they have coil pickups that sit in the open part on the acoustic guitar, not exactly sure though, i'm an electric guitar kind of guy.

  • Holy shit! imba... what kind of amp do i need for this?

  • marshall MG30DFX

and don't forget the pedal! You'll never get a great tone with that amp, no matter wich guitar u have

  • Dude thats amazing! but howcome the acoustic guitars sound is not coming?(u can only hear the distorted tone)...i thought both tones will be mixed(or are u using electric guitar strings?)

  • that's because I placed the microphone (the webcam) right on top of the amplifier, and switched it loud enough for it to "absorb" the acoustic sound

but if you hear it live, you'll hear the strings

  • i installed a single ciol in the sound hole of mine and installed some pots and jacks right in the body and it shredds like crazy.its got a cello like tone with distortion.

  • got to say this is some amazing shit? what pedal dude?

  • zoom 606 guitar

  • How does he get such sustain and such a full sound out of an acoustic? There are electrics that can't get this kind of sound.

  • but you got to admit it's sound's awesome

  • I used my marshall MG30DFX and a zoom 606 guitar effect. Ye, it actually sounds quite good, probably because acoustic guitars come with an inner microphone have a preamp system, so it might work a little bit like an active pickup (that's what I think), it also needs a battery.

  • This solo sounds like a Frankenstein of Paul Gilbert, Yngwie Malmsteen, and Synyster Gates.

  • Is that an Oscar Schmidt?

  • no... it's an "Azalea", not known guitars, at least outside latin america

  • believe it or not ive heard of them but it looks exactly like my oscar schmidt

  • soooo dude, what's the sustain like on this unit?

  • u'll never get good sustain on an acoustic guitar

  • same i also play metal with a acustic parents wont let me get a eletric yet what my vids plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • Zoom 606 guitar

  • I have never heard a distorted acoustic before... That sounds awesome!

    thanks 4 all the coments

  • thats really good but thats stupid your parents wont let you have an electric

  • WTF!! you're crazy!! that was really good!! 5 stars! wehew!

  • You're great! And you proved, that on any guitar you can play what you want, you just have to know how.. ;) Thanks man! I'm giving you five stars...

  • thank u so much ^^
