This song makes me tear up. My Dad has been an auto-mechanic for over 25 years now and he has a bad back and ankle. He rarely ever actually tells me that he loves me. But I know he does because he still gets up every day to go to work. I realize that he does it for me and I appreciate it.
I love this song it is so perfect! I come from a family of Bricklayers. My dad will be 80 years old in 2010. I want to lip sing this song to my dad who is a "BIG DOLLY FAN", starting back when she was on Porter Wagner Show. He still lays bricks only on half days at the age of 79. This song hits home, because my family of 350 relatives know the work behind being a mason, with six generations. He still has his old working boots no holes big enough, which I hope to wear during my performance.
She adores her Daddy, or did. He died in November 2000. This song is a true representation of how Dolly feels about her daddy. The song 'Daddy' is also true in a way though, because her daddy did have several illegitimate children and her Momma almost left him. But she loved him to death.
same here, tbdldam93......i lost my dad to a MASSIVE HEART ATTACK at the age of 51....I didnt get to tell him i loved him, and i missed him, but he is here, watching over me.......1956-2007

Nice song but, due to the song Daddy there is some problems. She adore him on this song but hate him on Daddy.
