Hi! Yes - generally. On this instrument there are two rows of jacks and two strings per note - one jack per string and a choice of either one or the other or both to sound at once per note. In this video I have given attention to one set of jacks & strings. Having both sounding at once gives a richer sound. As the jacks are at slightly different places along the string there is a small difference in sound. Some harpsichords have a "nasard" stop where the jacks pluck at the end of the strings
is there only one string per quill on a harpsichord? i'v always wanted to see the inside of one...this was quite thrilling for me
