I have both. Two completely different axes. If you can only have one you need to ask yourself what you want to play along with what kind of neck you prefer. The 62 neck is fucking huge compared to the 57. I like both but prefer the 62 neck. I can get used to either neck pretty quick. The 62 for Hendrix/SRV. The 57 for blues/jazz, classic rock into lite metal with the tone zone bridge pup. The SNC pups arent as bell like as the 62's but do not sound bad at all. They are very versatile pups.

Both Guitars are Fucking Awesome but for me the 62 Vintage Hot Rod is to thin.

The 57 is hotter and sounds a bit better.. :D

@UltimateStratocaster I think the neck on the 62 is thicker. I could not decide on the 57 or 62. I bought the 62 and put a SD hotrails pickup in the bridge. Find myself playing this guitar more than any one in my collection. And I am a Gibson guy!

Rosewood rules! :) Wish his spiel was in English man! Love the '62...'awesome strat to play. That dimarzio on the '57 just ruins the thing's vibe. Sound's like a modern guitar, not vintage strat like the '62 does.

I don't know what the Frenchie Ludo is saying in words but his playing said it all, great stuff man, shame you didnt play the same thing on both so we could hear the difference between the guitars. Actually it's just more expensive. It's a standart strat with the Roland VG system which is very expensive ;)

Well, this guy explains the evolution of the Stratocaster between the years: shape of the neck, models of pickup (I love DiMarzio Tone Zone).

He says that nitrocellulose smells good when you open the case, and that those instruments are for those who like "punchy vintage" Strat' guitars.
