What is it about YouTube covers that seems to bring out the predictable childish, soul-less responses form idiots who obviously have no clue about music and its true value in the first place. I'm sick of hearing that "blah de blah is better than so and so....", just enjoy the music. We all know Marley was a inspirational legend. This is an inspirational song, and Marley would be proud of this version. In these covers his music and soul live on forever, stop making comparisons and simply enjoy.

Is there really a need to reference this beautiful cover as though there is a competition with the original? Chris is obviously moved by this song and wanted to capture the emotion it made him feel. This is nice homage to Mr. Marley

Chris' voice is one of the best vocal I ever heard of...
Ive listen to this version on my earphone while laying on my bed and he had no pitch and his husky voice is truly original..salute u Chris...u have your own voice and style...And this version of Redemption Song is simply amazing!

Chris Cornell has a great voice. The thing about Bob Marley is that he is revered by all musicians no matter what genre from rock to rap to ska and punk and country. Johhny Cash, Pearl Jam, U2 and countless others have covered this song.

sorry everyone Bob Marley was over rated. More an icon than great musician. Ive got a best of cd i made of him with about 7 songs on it.
If you want talent you should listen to Toots and the Maytals or Justin Hinds, they totally owned Bob Marley but never got any recognition like marley.

I just can't see the why of personal opinions written like the only truth. You don't love marley, ok... But i think millions can't be wrong. And the fact of other great bands never got recongnition doesn't make his music worst. And i don't listen marley often. I just think opinions are jut that...
