2300.00 canadian for 20in not cheep but it is the end of the ar platform development a fine weapon fully modernized and 300wsm chambering I am impressed
All: I got a POF 415 with 14.5" barrel. Three comments - 1. At 7.8 lbs empty, with Aimpoint micro and flashlight it's over 8lbs! Customer service sucks! They want money for even the little tiny parts! Just another Heavy AR!
So . .when is that maritime NP3+ rifle there at the beginning going to be available. As of a week or two ago it still wasn't listed anywhere on the POF site that I could find.
Just saw Hogan Mfg. versions for both P308 & P415 @local bigbox outdoor store for about $300-500 less than POF's MSRP.
Their lawsuit still seems unresolved.
Talking to sales rep & reading forums, Hogan seems to have finish/fitment & late delivery issues. Though apparently, they've become more prompt lately & also now comes w/2yr warranty.
Anyone here actually bought a Hogan Mfg. version, who can testify 1st hand, whether there are any significant manufacturing variances, accuracy issues, etc?
@RosenKrantz666 Id still stake my life on a POF... they are just dam good shooters and run like a dream. And to be honest.. I had to go look up the Hogan Mfg... But as everything, folks will pick what they like the best and go shoot! Happy shooting what ever you get...
the only people getting sued are POF. They are not going out of business because they can't make a profit, they might be forced out of business because they didn't pay their bills and were sued (they don't make everything "in house" as they would have you believe, sure its the same building, but not the same company producing their parts). As a result of the law suit they might lose ownership of their patents and the rifles will continue being produced with a different name on the side.
@ENDCOMESSOON Oh, please...don't make me die of laughter. Tell us, oh wise one, what problems were you having? I have yet to have a single issue out of my P308 after firing reloads, FGMM, and Hornady ammo.
@xPH3N0Mx It was obvious that ENDCOMESSOON is full of Sh*t from the moment I've read he sold P308 for $1200 when for $1800 it would sell on the same day.
That said out of 100s of POF rifles my Bro sold only 2 that I know of were sent to get chambers re-honed & function without a single problem since. That was in 08-09 Obama time many companies had issues with production overload/high demand thus QC was not up to par. IMO POF & LWRC is by far the best investment if you like AR platform.
@bigyymajesticyy I just spoke with POF themselves on Friday, they said business has never been better. Thus, the 12 week lead times. I really don't see how they are going out of business considering (1) The lead times (2) The backlog and (3) The amount of demand being generated for these systems.
got mine in glendale at cabellas on monday. no wait time. the rail is different, much lighter than the one shown, is a dream to shoot. couldnt be happier.
So they dont offer the old rail system any more? The only thing I see on there website is the .308 M.R.R. MODULAR RAILED RECEIVER UPPER ACCESSORY RAIL which you can buy for almost 900 bucks. Kinda sucks if you wanted the full rail.
I can tell you from first hand experience, these rifles are AWESOME!
As with ANYTHING you purchase, you're going to find a bad apple every now and then because there will always be those that slip through the cracks and the true measure of a company is how they stand behind their product and POF stands behind their rifles! I can honestly say that I have NEVER had an issue with my P308 and when I'm ready to purchase an AR-15, it will be from Patriot Ordnance Factory. Buy once, cry once!
@TyrantBoxer I am running an 18" 223 and two 20" 308s. I like the piston system over LWRCs. Much easier to get at, dont have to take my optics off to get at the pof piston. Also, my pofs are much lighter and better balanced. The side charging handle on the repr from lwrc feels like it is made by fisher price. I am always thinking its going to break.
Never had a problem with my pof rifles. Just purchased a 3rd one today. I have ran them hard. I have 223 and a 308 pof. Love em. I will take these over my lwrc rifles anytime.
These rifles are very sweet...however, they might as well be made of Platinum considering the price tag they come with. Like a lot of previous posts mentioned, I'm not a huge fan of the gas-piston driven systems on the AR platform. Unless you plan on going to the sandbox or other various parts of the world for combat ops, you really don't need it. I never had a problem with my GBB AR-15 or my M-4 in the desert. I like the "keep it simple" theory.
I don't get all the gas piston stuff. I'd rather have a good ol' reliable direct impingement system that is proven vs something that is still working the bugs out. Plus the DI system doesn't make the handguard boil like the pistons do. I'll stick to cleaning my rifles when I'm done and buy a new bolt carrier for $150 every 5000 rounds if I need. YMMV
thats all good and stuff, but have they fixed the reliability issues i keep hearing/seeing on youtube and other areas. They keep saying there fixed, then you hear about someone having to send a new gun back. I really want the 308 but DO NOT WANT to have to return it for some reason. While they stand behind there product i would rather they not have too.
@ENDCOMESSOON I'll gladly take that off your hands!

@1974JJP You can order their Tactical rail in place of the Hunter/Sniper Rail if you want. I don't think they charge anything more for that.

hock4540 1 year ago
@hock4540 Piston systems are equally if not more reliable than DI, rule of thumb... specifically a well regulated long stroke.
nevertheless... I agree with you in the that, in an ar15 style rifle DI will always win, due to the fact that is what is was built around.
peace. :)
