1. Keep your phone on lock at all times when not using it. I experimented on having my Iphone without a single lock...My phone lasted 1hr 30min while just text messaging.
2. Brightness...Light = energy
3. Closing out of apps that you are not using (Double clicking the home button and x'ing out of every single application)
if you get the 30 dollar outlet converter fot the usb cord will x3 your barrery life. i went from 18 hours of usage till the battery got red. then when i used the wall outlet converter it went to 3/12 days of uasage. its because most usb on a pc arent the high spee you need. i think its like 2.0. but also good video as well
@DuDaX The iPhone 4 uses a lithium-ion battery. Best practice is to NOT let the battery drain fully often. In fact, if possible, charge the phone before the battery falls below 50%. The only reason to do a full cycle drain is to recalibrate the battery. And you you only need to do that once every other month in order to get the most accurate battery % reading. I personally only do full cycle charges once every three or four months.

Just thought you should know, the "manually" and "15 minutes" etc.. in the mail section, actually has nothing to do with push, it's for fetch only. When push is on, your phone ONLY uses battery when you actually receive an email. When push is off, the phone defaults to fetch, which is either manual (only checking when app is opened) or one of the 3 time increments. Other than that, pretty good tips (though you forgot about turning off 3G)
i always have my brightness to the all the way off part,, you get used to it,, and i have gotten my phone (3g) to last 2 days at a sleepover with people messing with my apps and such for a long time.

Having push email on means that AS SOON AS you get an email you will be notified. Having push on with manual means you will still get a notification as soon as you get an email. If you turn push off but have fetch set to 15 mins it will then check for email every 15 mins.
By turning push on goes over the manual fetch setting. Push goes over fetch so if push is off, it'll go to whatever the fetch setting is so youre wrong on that.
I'm pretty sure it takes more battery to power it on than it does to have it locked for a while.

Haha, no if you NEED to be reached then leave it on. In the middle of the night why not just turn it off? makes more sense. Leave it on all you want it is just a damn TIP. something you CAN do to save battery life.Take what you want from it, instead of flipping shit and saying OMFG YOU ARE SO FUCKING STUPID WHAT IF THE WORST POSSIBLE THING HAPPENS AND YOU NEED YOUR PHONE AND IT IS OFF. You also could leave your car running all day so you can rush to the hospital to see your family member. Why not leave a "we will miss you" cake in the oven? Unless you plan on hugging a charger, it is handy to shut it off overnight. Your mother dies during the night, you turn your phone on in the morning, say Oh no! and then grab the cake out of the oven, jump in your warm car WITH the coffin and off you go to say bye. Nothing dramatic happens in my life because I don't go prancing around like Twilight douchebags. Relax buddy. If you assume the worst, life sucks. SMILE, life is good if you look at it that way.

YES, because when your mom dies, they are going to do WHATEVER they want with the body, without ESPECIALLY consulting her son/daughter. And they OBVIOUSLY don't have things called morgues that you can go to when your family dies, so you can see them, Also, you obviously don't understand that if someone has a drama-free life, its not a shitty life. Just thought you should know, the "manually" and "15 minutes" etc.. in the mail section, actually has nothing to do with push, it's for fetch only. When push is on, your phone ONLY uses battery when you actually receive an email. When push is off, the phone defaults to fetch, which is either manual (only checking when app is opened) or one of the 3 time increments. Other than that, pretty good tips (though you forgot about turning off 3G)

I have been wondering about this kind of thing. I heard a lot about bad battery life. I mean what do people expect? They make a super slim phone that does everything under the sun. Of course it will die quickly. My adivce is to buy an extra USB charger for your computer at work and a car charger. That should keep you covered. I hope..... I am in the market for a new phone at the end of Nov. I just have to leave Verizon to take the plunge to iPhone.

Having push email on means that AS SOON AS you get an email you will be notified. Having push on with manual means you will still get a notification as soon as you get an email. If you turn push off but have fetch set to 15 mins it will then check for email every 15 mins.

By turning push on goes over the manual fetch setting. Push goes over fetch so if push is off, it'll go to whatever the fetch setting is so youre wrong on that.
