Alright folks, tracked down that show; the last airing... here it is - the artist in question is Liz Gorrell with her album of piano, etc (although I haven't heard IT yet) "For the Beauty of the Earth" and her rendition of "How Deep..." But, yes - the one I think I'm seeking is a bit smokier, imagine if Dido had sung the version... the cover I'm suggesting was a tail end to an hour's block of Brazilian, SA inspired & artist contributed renditions or original pieces on the freeform show of 10-12-11 on kunm.org PLEASE check if interested, TY
