  • I have flown the GT in 21,23 and 26 sizees with approx 700 hours on it .I believe this glider has saved my ass many times in strong conditions the 21 is my favorite for acro and long trips.It cuts heavy turbulence like a RAZOR. with me hooked in I load it with approx 130kgs. And I have started it with 160kg. it is so fast the first time I landed it I almost peed my pants.. I always land it on neutral to get a long smooth flare with tons of brake power. THX Paramania for one oft the best PPG 's

  • Bottom line, when thinking of buying a paraglider, do alot of homework otherwise you will end with something made alot of money to the seller, and nothing else.

    switched from UP glider to OZONE and never looking back, left or right.

  • This is a misleading video. The collapse shown was not an accident or fault of reflex technology. The pilot is Aouth African champion Tony Gibson, who used the speedbar on slow trims, which is warned against by the manufacturer, to evaluate what happens if you make that mistake.

Its really sad because many people have died on paramania gliders. I think it is something like 6 pilots now dead just in the last year on Paramania? Zero reflex gliders can pass any level of certification at all. None of them. Not one. They market them as "certified" though which is fraud. Totally not cool.

  • This video shows what happens when you take a collapse on paramania gliders. As is obvious they can't pass any certifications at all because of the horrible catatrophic results to collapses and numerous people have died on them already. Just look at the other posts, these people will stop at nothing to sell those totally uncertified gliders. They literally tell people these gliders are impossible to collapse when they are actually far more likely to collapse because the pilot has no control.

  • @pk032547 Not one single reflex glider on the planet is certified. The second you put it in reflex mode the certifications go out the window. Suggesting there is such a thing as a "certified" "reflex" glider is a huge gigantic fraud. Pushing that fraud is no different then denying and trying to hide all the deaths. One of my customers just had his best friend die right in front of him on this same paramania death trap. He hit so hard his body partially exploded. Another died in Peru.

  • @pk032547 Nope, all certified gliders can be flow at full speed in their certified configuration without becoming nightmare death traps. Reflex gliders cannot be flown at full speed or any speed at all above trim speed in a safe manner. They are death traps. How is that even a close comparison?? These people that just died, did so because they were flying death traps. Had they been on certified gliders they would have almost for sure lived. There isn't one single good thing about reflex.

There is no performance gain and very clear and deadly safety disadvantaged. Pretty clear even from the posts here that those who push them are murderers & liars who think nothing of killing people.

The glide ratio of the paramania crap is so bad that a typical Top 80 runs out of power long before you can even get ot full speedbar. Who wants to race? Anyone? Stick to the truth, there is absolutely no reason for people to keep dying.

Where have I bashed paramania at all? I've stated the obvious truth. Just look at the dang video, THAT is what happens when they collapse. Since they have no performance or stability benefit at all and their safety is horrible there is absolutely no reason to even consider them. That's just reality.

  • 2 more people just died on these wings, for the information just look at the ppgtruth yahoo group. You can see here what type of people push reflex gliders. They try to hide all the deaths and lists of injuries and continue to promote these totally uncertified gliders onto beginners. Certified gliders pass those certifications for a reason. There isn't one single certified reflex glider on the market. Not one. Put it in reflex mode and they are death traps waiting to kill again.

  • Also note this glider was in its "safest" configuration. The glider was at trim speed. If you like that safety you should see what it does in death trap mode with the trims out!! I almost died doing some basic safety tests on these wings that any certified glider would have no problem with. reflex gliders are a nightmare.

  • @pk032547 I've never seen even one single person on one of those reflex pieces of junk that can even perform one of the tasks in the WPSDA World Championships let alone be competitive so not sure what you are talking about. You simply can't compete on the death traps, they don't have the performance needed to be competitive. Plus the safety is terrible and they are pretty much impossible to launch in no wind at higher altitude so what is the point of even talking about them other than to warn?

  • @pk032547 lol, I'm talking about the real World Championships, none of the guys you refer to can even complete 1 single task in the WPSDA World Championships. They can't even complete a task let alone compete. reflex gliders are total crap, all you are seeing is a bunch of marketing hype that has nothing to do with reality. Just watch the videos of the WPSDA World Championships and see if those other guys can even come close to competing. They need to get real equipment to compete.

You would think a World Champion could at least complete one task from the Championships don't you think? lol. Just be realistic though, nobody on those gliders can compete, they just can't. It is impossible because of the huge gigantic disadvantage of having such a poorly designed wing.

  • @pk032547 I already have, the WPSDA is the best competition in the world. No BS, no politics, no traveling around the world. Skill against skill alone. Anyone in the world can post a video and if they are the winner it will be obvious to all. Anyone can compete in the World Championships from anywhere. Just post a video & win. Take as many tries as you like. No luck to it. The best pilot in the world is the champion. That's a real competition.

Any certified glider would have recovered but the paramania death trap didn't. Only those who lie think it is dirty to tell the truth. You can't cheat in the WPSDA World Championships pascyy. Go ahead and try to beat the champ. Hire anyone you like, pay them a million dollars to beat the champion lol. Have fun trying as you can't wing on paramania crap.

People are going to die if they fly those death traps. It just can't get any more obvious than this video can it? How can someone even question the validity of a video showing what happens after a collapse?? These things should be banned. Pushing them onto beginners should land you in jail.

  • The pilot was fully aware of the want he was doing. He was showing why you should not use speed bar with the trims in on an Action GT. This is common knowledge for any decent ppg pilot. It is true for many reflex wings.

    Never say a wing will not collapse that is just simply not accurate. To say it is highly resistant may be a more accurate description.

  • It was speed bar and trimmers which gave the wing a camber which cannot work on a parachute and therefore front collapsed, beautfiul recovery though, reflex rules!

    if you follow the manufacturer's instructions manual, will you have a collapse at all!? no way.

    i flew the ActionGT and tested it in the shittiest thermic conditions that you could ever imagine. the wing was amazingly stabilizing it self with no pilot input at all, i could even see half the lines were going slack, but nothing seriously happened.

    and just for your info, i am not the dealer for any brand :)

    You can use brake when trimmers on fast! infact you can be even heavier on the brakes then trimmers on slow (Paraglider like slow).

  • Can you imagine to do that when in your car? 5th gear full speed and suddenly to pull the handbrake...!!!

    Or to apply a lot of air brakes on a cessna at full speed..? you would rip the wings off!

    And at full speed Paramania wings are quite fast for a paraglider at 60kph. and very resistant to 'NATURAL' collapses from turbulence.

  • The pilot did exactly what is said in BIG RED in the manual and even on the trimmers now...

    He was on FULL speed bar, then he yanked down on the 30cm trimmer rang from full fast to slow....

  • Dear Socket. Pilot dont use accelerator. He had just open minus-trimmer and pull some break. If you have a reflex-type wing, you can check it by youself. But i ask you to get enough altitude. :)

    This Problem is only a Problem of the Pilot in this Video.

  • yetivolant: in this case speedsystem means "minus-trimmer". Reflex wings cannot turns by brakelines (clevants) on high speed mode. Dudec develop a TST system specially for trimmer-off mode, but that of steering is not much effictive..

  • I'm a dealer because you never know who is going to make the next best thing which is why I'm a distributor for so many different brands. This guy caused this collapse but the bottom line is that this is HOW the glider responds to a collapse. It doesn't matter if he gave himself the collapse, the huge problem is the results. A back flip over your lines and total loss of control is not something you want to happen every single time you take a collapse. This glider fails the test. Next...

  • Reflex airfoil is for hanggliders only! Ask Mike why he used if for paragliders. Reflexing puts the CG up front making it more prone to frontal collapse. No wonder why DHV doesnt like it.

  • Adding an amount of reflex to a wing seems ok as with Aspen 2 freeflying wing but a full reflex high speed wing seems very dynamic after a colapse, not safe near the ground? would love to try the GT on a SIV.
