The sad reality is put in the given circumstances even the best people would make the wrong decisions because ultimately we are selfish, and we are all willing to hurt others to help ourselves. We're social animals, but we're pack oriented animals, so we naturally gravitate towards us vs them mentalities and introduce caste systems. The reality is it's not going away. In our consumer studies we have many techniques for cleaning out illogical responses because the logic in OUR program was wrong and they should not have been asked a question. But we never delete a persons data just because it doesnt make sense to us. This concept can be applied to politics...

@DivineChronometer IMO, on some level, direct involvement in the political process is essential to building the type of society and culture that human beings were meant to have , and might have once had. When you take away the responsibility to learn/participate in favor of the responsibility to elect, i think we internalize this lack of responsibility and apply it to everything in life. The government isn't to blame, the banks aren't to blame, the masses aren't to blame. It's the eternal flaws of greed and moral cowardice on an individual level.
