  • My dad was that sax player in this band! I swear. No lie my dad help record this song. I love it. He was born in the Bronx with my uncles and his friends and they started the band Inferno, thus creating Empress. That girl on 0:21 aka the one singing some of the song...was my dad's friend. I'm so series.

  • I sooo love this version of "Dying to be Dancin. '" Thanks for posting. This brings back memories.

  • I notice that all the people that like these old skool classics are from NYC as was I. That's so cool!

  • @Paid4byJesus92 I'm from So. Cal. and this was the song to roller skate to at the rink on Saturday nights, and at Venice beach on Sundays.

  • @Paid4byJesus92 That's because alot of the songs from back in the days were first brought in as demos to NYC radio stations back in the day ie: 107.5 WBLS, 92.3 KTU & 98.7 KISS FM New York City has and always the first to hear good music like this while radio stations in Philly, North Carolina & Baltimore caught on later as word got around...no e-mail back then LOL! And the clubs played these joints every weekend and DJ's from other cities would jump on it. NYC always gets the hits first!

  • @kdemonde You Said It!!! Paco, Roscoe, Mary Thomas, Frankie Crocker, Ken "Spider" Webb, Chuck Leonard & can't forget Mr. Magic, Chuck Chill Out & Red Alert makin' these hits "FRESH!" with the mixes. Great memories!

  • @brxgrl523 Oh Yeah!! Joe Causy, Gee Keith Alexander, Carlos DeLeon, Bugsy aka "Ross Martin" LOL! and lets not forget Champagne, Vaughn Harper & Yvonne Mobley at night !!

  • @kdemonde Yes laawd 98 point 7 KISS FM & 107.5 WBLS I'm still in love with Yvonne Mobley, plus they let Vaugh Harper go last year. He came back and they fired him and replaced him with Keith Sweat. Keith is a hometown boy and all but come on Vaughn Harper, the legend?

  • @Paid4byJesus92 Yeah back then this music wasn't gettin far from the East Coast I remember BMore DJs bangin these Prelude joints at their park way back when I would visit my fam down there. I was in Hi-school back then and you already know nothing was like Hi school,I dont understand these kids today, they dont want to go to school, huh? Go figure...

  • this song influenced my remix xtyle with all its color and overlays with percussion and hi hats and a tamborine over a funky hard 4/4 beat. i still think of this when i mix and might remix it soon
