@Stepofromserbia when you play the guitar starting out you usually make the mistake of using the flat part of your finger but what you need to do is use the very tip right before your fingernail. it will take time but you'll get it p.s. Metallica is not a very good place to start learning songs. but if you want to try go for it. everyone has to start somewhere.

To be honest the solo is pretty easy.

All of metallica's songs are easy except for The Four Horsemen but in Fade to Black all it is, is speed for the most part but other than that the entire song is a repeated scale lol.
