I remember listening to this song as a child... my mom and I would sing it together..... that is, until I stoped speaking Gaelic and soon forgot how to pronounce it all together -searches a Irish language site- now the language seems so hard and I have NO idea why! >A<
@magisterludi92103a You're very welcome. Check out Enya singing Athair Ar Neamh (Heavenly Father) It is also a very beautiful Gaelic worship song. I believe you will enjoy it very much. Slan agus beannacht
Thank you for posting this song! :-) The Psalm is so beautiful amd inspiring!
The Psalms were meant to be sung...We can only imagine what they sounded like in King David's time.
Psalm 18 (NIV)
Psalm 18 (NAB)
Psalm 17 (Latin Vulgate--Douay-Rheims)
If you go to latinvulgate (dot)com you can see the verse in both. The site also has a feature of the D-R, L-V, KJV side by side (parallel translation).
This song is not the complete Psalm. The main verses were fitted to the tune.
This is the tune by (Fr.) Liam Lawton call "Hiding Place" in English which can be heard on his album, "The Clouds Veil"- a hauntingly beautiful tune in its own right. [GIA music publications, Inc.]
Listening to this, I am reminded of the time I stood in Glasgow Cathedral listening to the beauty of Lasair Dhe' performed by Arthur, Mary Ann and other talented people. It was worth the trip from Coventry to experience it.
I love this. I hope someday I can learn it. Thanks for providing the lyrics.

If you look at the column at the top left-Sporty Mike, click on more info-you will get the lyrics in Irish-I think it is Psalm 18.
It is so beautiful, so haunting.
