Actually to all you hydra lovers out there the m3 is stronger look at the stats at max upgrade it has more firepower than the hydra which has 550 at max and i have 600 at halfway upgrade....
give both vests to sheva, you dont need them. I roll with the fully upgraded Sig P226, Sig 556 and the M3. I prefer to give Sheva the jailbreaker and the HK P8 ofc fully upgraded.
Again, I will have to disagree. Though I understand why people would pick this weapon over the Hydra. The 900 firepower catches the eye over the 550 that the Hydra offers. It seems as though the M3 is much strong, but is it? The Hydra has three barrels. 3x550=1650. Even though its stronger, that's not the only reason that I would prefer the Hydra. It's because of the speed and range. A shotgun with speed and range with the addition of mad firepower is all you could ever want in a shotgun!
@pillsbury1201 Well, the M3 may have no special perk or anything but it's still a damned fine shotgun. The brute force knocks back any enemy at close range, even the Executioner. I still prefer the Hydra, because of its increased versatility, range, power, etc, so I agree with you for the most part.
@pillsbury1201 i disagree with you. In my opinion the M3 is stronger than the Hydya. I fully upgraded the M3 and found out that it shoots 6 bullets when you pull the trigger once (if you don't believe me, try shooting a fully upgraded m3 at a wall) So, the M3's Power is 900x6=5400. But Hydra has much better range. i like the m3 better than the hydra though.
@gamer223100 You're wrong, the hydra is stronger AND has better range. Shoot the hydra on a wall, you'll see a hell of a lot of bullet holes, but that doesn't mean it's the amount of bullets fired. I tested the M3 and hydra on a gatling gun majini up close. M3 took 8 shots while the hydra took 6.
Depends on the situation. If you can afford the infinite ammo-upgrade for the M3, I would pick that one. Also, the Jail Breaker is only available pretty late in the game...
Basically I love both shotguns I'm not really all about attack power.
If it shoots bullets and kills my enemies then that's all that matters to me. ( as long as I have unlimited ammo)

The m3/riot gun is a good weapon to use for crowd control or against stronger enemies.
But the hydra/tri-gun is better in terms of power and the fact that this gun is good against the chainsaw wielding zomibes

To clarify:
M3 damage 900
Hydra damage 500 (or 550)
M3 is stronger but Hydra has more tightly packed bullets, so a hydra shot to the head would do more damage than an M3 because more bullets would hit.
