Those Shitaki's are so beautiful, not to mention how friggin awsome ur grow tent/sport is. IT looks like a decorative garden, but it also puts out some of the best looking mushrooms in all of youtube.
Shittake mushrooms are delicious. They are quite expensive thou in Singapore & my family only uses them occasionally, especially in Chinese New Year seafood steamboat. Yum!!!
Typically you want burr oak logs, white oak or red oak will do. Not to large, 3-4 inch is best from a young tree cut them in the spring before bud break.

Typically a harvest is 10 pounds twice a year three if your luck from this set up.
logs will continue to fruit for 5 to 7 years reliably

Shiitake ranges from $10-20/lb Some of the largest mushrooms there could be up to half a pound including the stem

I think you could if you kept them out of the sun and moist.
