  • the stress test at 1.20 is simply awesome

  • COLD STEEL! out of your swords, i have to say this is prolly the one i desire most... however i would like to know which is your weapon of choice? which of your products do you like best?

  • @zerrubabbel The Dragonfly Katana is Lynn's favorite sword too. I know Robert likes the Grosse Messer, Jason likes the 1917 Saber and Luke likes the Warrior O Katana. I'm more of a knife guy. My favorite product is the 2011 XL Clip Point Voyager (combi edge)

  • @csknives cool, thanx ^.^

  • In case of zombie apocalypse please donate me one of these.

    Thank you :P

  • I fight with three swords

  • The part with the pig... BRUTAL !

  • he had a littel trouble breathing after swingin 2 swords lol

  • A chainsaw is not proverbial.

  • trueswords has this for $460

  • I've always wonder one thing. What's better? The dragonfly series or the emperor series ( minus the double edged katana)? Can someone tell me cuz I'm planing on buying a katana, wakasashi and tanto but don't know which kind to get. And I want to get all from the same series. Thanks

  • @VenomMonster87 I know this is an old message, but if you haven't found out yet, here goes: strictly speaking, there are much better options for Japanese swords at this price point or cheaper than Cold Steel (Hanwei, Dynasty Forge, and Kris Cutlery come to mind), but if you must go with Cold Steel and are worried about performance, I'd go with the Dragonfly. Given that the Emperor Katana's point of balance is 10", it will handle like a crowbar, making it ridiculously slow and heavy feeling...

  • @VenomMonster87 The Dragonfly's, meanwhile, is 5 5/8", much more manageable and much closer to what a regular katana's point of balance would be. The Dragonfly weighs about 4oz more than the Emperor, but you'll feel every ounce and then some of the Emperor; not so with the Dragonfly.

  • a vary badass sword for 900$

  • dam that looks like a fun ass job to do cold steel knife demonstrations on you tube

  • gotta love the fat dude.

  • 2:25 that banner on the left has 666 on it inside those circles

  • I want me one of those...

  • the fat dude knows how to wield a sword :D

  • what does make this dragonfly katana 400$ more expensive from warriors katana?

  • @Axarno123 I dont care if the blade is mass-produced or not. It is still a Katana, and should be wielded as such.

  • wow only 900$! HAH

cold steel makes good shit though, i have a folder pocket knife by them, great quality

gonna get the Katana one of these days

  • if only duels still existed this would be the way to settle arguments

  • lol that katana rocks !

  • i doubt hes fought with two swords before...

  • Pure force, zero technique. They would make much more use of this amazing weapon, if they knew how to use it properly.

  • where do i sign up ?

  • now i know how to take care of my water filled trash can.

  • THey wasted like 1000$ making this video.

  • i wish they had never invented guns, a sword fight is much more fair ...

  • @trancamun Send in the peasants, give them swords and it will certainly be a fair fight against those knights.

  • @LunaTheNightBringer what i meant is, the first one to pull the trigger win a gun fight... Now, with the sword, real abillity is demanded XD

  • @trancamun Yeah. Speed, precision and accuracy. It's not like you need those when firing a gun or using a sword.

A fair sword fight or gun fight does not exist. There are a multitude of variables that affect the outcome.

  • @LunaTheNightBringer even tho if you're unarmed you can't "fight" againsta gun, at least not as you can against a sword...

  • @trancamun Now you're just bringing in hypothetical situations. Doesn't matter whether you get stabbed, shot or blown up, dying is dying. A weapon is a weapon.

  • @trancamun Because every cartridge fires a magical homing bullet, right?

  • @RebelWrestler45 not that, i just think a sword fight is much fair because you have more time to react... think like this, if your unarmed, and someone with a gun came, you're dead, but if you're unarmed still and fight someone with a sword both of you have to be good, can you get it?

  • @trancamun How is a sword fight 'more fair'; the mere suggestion that an unarmed opponent has a reasonable chance of defeating an opponent with a sword is just stupid, I think you've been watching way too many ninja movies. You've obviously never even dropped the hammer on an actual firearm before; stick to video games kid.

  • @RebelWrestler45 okay if you think so, it's just mine opinion ...

  • Ok to all the emo ten year olds watching this video: fuck off. You're too young for a sword. Also, these swords are useless in society for anything other than aesthetics or practice cutting, so don't talk about killing people. Thats sick and offensive to people who have actually killed people for your freedom.

  • .these guys are dangerous psychopaths..these bullshit would just sit on the wall or a shelf.

  • 6 dislikes must be from empty trashcans, bamboo, and ninjas who want their shit back...

  • Dont tell this guy ur out of mc nuggets

  • i wouldnt want to be working for that guy

  • i lol'd at the fat guy with mustache, neck tie and two swords XD anyone else thinks cold steel could be their dream job?

  • two swords are definitely what I would use to attack with fat master...

  • Comment removed

  • To all of you making comments about there form F--- OFF!! Don't you get it! They don't give a SH-- about form stupid! They are demonstrating the ability of the swords not there ability to entertain you with perfect form. Another thing, the guy whining about disrespecting the sword, this is a commercial to sell swords, wake up!!! Japanese made swords out of iron sand and it wasn't ideal material to make swords out of so don't believe all the hype!

  • 1:33, i was just waiting for the part where he pulled it to far back and the blade snapped out of the holder to slice his arm off... lol

  • now i know where to go for the zombie apocalypse.

  • Onion cutting katana ftw xD

  • Duane has not aged well lol

  • "i fight with two swords a lot"

who the hell do you fight?

  • @jazzypotato Ninja zombie space pirates duhhh.

  • @jazzypotato lmfao

  • @jazzypotato hahahahahhahahaha you made my day..... hahahahahhaha i was wondering the same thing..... hahahhahaha

  • @jazzypotato Obesity.

  • if you hate the chubby fat ass

  • These guys are simultaneously the biggest dorks to appear on camera, and also the envy of nerds everywhere (myself included, who wouldn't want to cut shit up all day for a living?)

  • fat ninjas? xD

  • Yo opino que hay que estar muuuuuy al pedo, el gordito y el otro tipo... que pinta de pelotudos.. vayan a trabajar!

  • Can't u just see the guy with the tie coming home and just busting out with his Katana

  • The barbecues these guys must have...

  • my fav sword too

  • sick!

  • he fights with two knives alot...

  • @CreepX I lawled. what is he attacked by ninjas everyday?

  • Oh god... These guy's does not know anything at all about the use and handling of a Katana.. For one, if you use the Katana to STAB INTO METAL, you do not deserve to even be in the same BUILDING as a Katana, let alone wield one.

  • So what do you do for a living Dave? I tear shit up with Cold Steel Katana Blades...AWESOME!!

  • Is this thing as good as the real one? I mean the real katana made by those japanese master

  • @techmonkguru No. not even close. These blades are "mass-produced", it is impossible to achieve the same quality when producing them on demand. a true Katana is made in a 6 month's long prossess, and using ONLY tradidtional swordsmithing techniques.

  • @TheMikeBravo Not true. A traditional katana takes at most two weeks. There are actually national regulations stating that a swordsmith cannot make more than two swords per month. Smiths have been appealing to have the limit increased for a long time. The model they used to gauge for how long a sword should take (Akihiri Miyairi) would spend a particularly long time on his swords. All regulations regarding sword manufacture in Japan today are based off of him. (The Craft of the Japanese)

  • I wanna see you chop a pig up thats got all its guts and organs....

  • 2:53 the fat guy is getting his dinner ready.

  • i am not good with 2 swords i get twisted up and im not so good with 1 handed swords either only 2 swords or 2 handed sort swords

  • fat chubby idiot + katana = win

  • 1:35 he should have let go and let it bounce around...see if he could fling it across the room lol

  • whats the smaller sword he was holding in his hand, wen he was using 2 swords, is it a cold steel sword?

  • @urgandma no he uses a cold steel sword and one from another company just to prove the other cuts as good as the cold steel one ... offcourse it's cold steel !!

  • @viniv20 ok well then if ur soo "smart", can you tell me what sword it is...

  • @urgandma Reference Ewart Oakeshott- he was the leading figure of archeology and weapons read some of his books for a vauge idea of different blade categorisations.

  • "I'm a big fan of playing with two swords..." XD

  • 8D

  • some how i think that cold steel started by a bunch of guys that were like "WANNA DO KARATE IN THE GARGE"

  • This comment is not meant to be offensive to anyone.

Finally, a big katana by CS. Most of CS's katanas are made Asian style, and most Asians are kinda small, so the katanas are also kinda small and hard to use. This one is made American style.

  • Im bummed that Cold Steel does not put in a homon line

  • 1:38 Hey tatami mat! u wana take my lunch now bitch!?

  • i find it funny that the form of the demonstrators is in every way, wrong, they are slicing with brute strength. if the swords are as sharp and durable as they say then have someone who has not got as much obvious strength test it .

  • @AkumaDante12 i noticed that in general with their swords, they often use BIG slashes and strokes, and not the ones youduse more when fighting, i.e the smaller quicker cuts,

iguess you know more than me but their form seems ok, theyre using their hips i notice at least.

  • For whatever reason the figure of a fatass in a tie doesn't come across as a ninja samurai swords master.

  • Badass coolface @2:22

  • My dream item.

  • I wish these videos didn't look and sound so much like infomercials. They don't do your products justice.... they're tacky and corny.

  • i actualy hate the stress tests!

  • yeah... im sure theres alot of 300lbs men out there fighting with Swords.. yup, theres a whole gang of fat ninjas, its called "wesa eat yo food'' clan.

  • Their knives are sure sharp, I've bought from them before. I'd love to buy some swords, but alas, I have no money. Nor a reason to use such awesome blades. C'mon zombies where the hell are you?

  • @xSilentKhaosx you gotta buy the blades before the zeds so you are ready when they get here... don't think mail will be exactly reliable afterwardsXD

  • Am I the only one that looks at all these videos and thinks "What would work best against hordes of zombies?"

  • @RobertPhel First thing I thought of when I watched this Katana vid, lol.

  • @RobertPhel nope

  • @RobertPhel no, that's pretty much all I think of. lol

  • @RobertPhel me to but also i want them for getting rid of my brothers and ppl that stand in my way i can only imagine fuck shit monkey licking dick fuck my dad wont let me buy them or buy them for me for trying to kill both my older brothers i dnt think ov them as brothers with my existing weapons that i have i stabbed one of them with my mini butterflyknife in his shoulder blade =)

  • @blackwinter35 You need to sort your life out mate.

  • Substitute "zombies" for "rioters" and I'm in! :D

  • @RobertPhel you are not alone.

  • @RobertPhel The war hammer would last the longest and be effective for years.. A sword would get bloody rusty and chipped fast...

  • @RobertPhel this would be good

  • @RobertPhel ur not the only one. im a bit of a zombie lover and if u askd me what company to go to for zombie slayers, i would say cold steel without skiping a beat

  • Did that wakazashi have no handguard?

  • 0:41 - and now try to say Lynn Thompson is fat

  • are these guys unaware of the invention of firearms

  • This sword is beautiful but the warrior series from cold steel is cheaper and more combat effective

  • why does a knife/sword company have a medieval dungeon in their basement?

  • @NerfPenguin Largely because they have their priorities straight. LOL

  • @NerfPenguin the question is why dont you?

  • @NerfPenguin Because they're cool like that :D its epic

  • Musashi was his first name, Miyamoto was his surname.

  • that short guy likes decapitation

  • chainsaw's don't cut.

  • just as long as it can decapitate numerous zombies without breaking im satisfied.

  • "I fight with 2 knives a lot, and 2 swords"

  • i bet these guys got teased when they were at school.

  • omg...they stabing it wrong they supposed to thrust it in sideways so it goes in deeper..and the guy with two swords...he dont noe the fk he is doing

  • I wasn't aware that there was a "proverbial chainsaw".

  • thats the perfect thing to have when the ninjas show up

  • видно что из свиньи позвоночник вынут, иначе одним ударом только топором и если её упереть, а висящую наверно вообще никак

  • Go Fatman Go!

  • HOW THE FUCK IS THAT GUY STILL SO FAT

  • @orgamma maybe he ate all the meat he chopped....

  • @bbathk That would be an hilarious option, but all the meat is donated to feed the homeless. That's a pretty good policy.

  • @orgamma Where do you think all the chopped up meat goes?

  • со свиньёй пиздец полнейший!!!

  • I love the Dragonfly series, they slice through limbs like butter. I grade the blades on how easily they slice through the pieces of meat, and these definitely win for me. Zombies would be no sweat for this sword, i personally would buy it to use on a cannibalistic red neck sometime after 2012 but thats just me.

  • i swear some of this stuff is just made for if zombies ever came to exist

  • "Two swords are the way to go" Until you meet someone more skilled than you with one.

Well, I never expected a cold steel salesman to actually have any training so that's the sort of thing they would come out with.

  • i like how these people demonstrate their swords i mean it just makes you want to buy it and if you were trained with the swords then you'll want to buy it even more

  • if i bought this from you guys (cold steel) right now would it come as sharp as you say it is?

  • @dirtbikepro1504 doubt it I heard their pretty dull.

  • and eventhough no duh a random small guy could have more skill than some random big guy... bigger in itself alone is always better. Being heavy and powerful alone is a skill and advantage over being light with less power. It's like a hypothetical fight between a bus and a sports car... say the sports car did martial arts... the bus will win anyway because it's so much fucking heavier and power powerful it would be a useless struggle for the sports car.

  • Yeah yeah I know, but fronting is usually what always counts and prevents crap from going down in the first place. Which is why bouncers are always big.

  • It's great that you use 2 swords to fight, but what exactly DO you fight?

  • @FretxStorm dead pigs, steaks, tatami mats and car hoods

  • Is this more expensive than the O katana?

  • this or hanwei practical plus/raptor katana? any suggestions?

  • someone needs to make a spin off of this but w/ guns.....

  • Comment removed

  • @leddeath80 To be fair. That's like saying they're not real fighters... I'd rather fight a 140lbs guy with perfect form in wushu or some bullshit than a 6'4" guy who lifts and weighs 280 lbs. size, weight, and strength > pretty form and being all lightweight and crap. These guys ARE real swordsmen. they make some of the best swords in the world and know how to safely use a sword if they ever wanted to chop someone in two. end of story.

  • @HawaiianForge honestly, if some one is perfectly trained in self defense, it doesn't take mass to knock you down, I've seen 110 pound person take out a bodybuilder with 3 strikes.

  • @HawaiianForge i made a typo. wat i meant was, those guys are not real swordsmen as their technique is horrible.

  • @leddeath80 Absolutely especially the fat guy

  • @leddeath80 They don't claim to be real swordsmen. The big guy is Lynn Thompson, president of Cold Steel. They are merely demonstrating the all round cutting, slicing, stabbing power of the weapons they produce. I don't think they claim to be proffesional swordsmen of any sort...Except maybe the knife throwing guy in certain videos...he's great :)

  • i'd actually love to own one of these

  • Got road rage? Buy a dragonfly and stab some fuckers through their car doors!

  • @asd123ish AHAHAH haha xD

  • I like when he mentioned musashi.

  • i could take all these guys with a tree branch they better use those dragonfy katans... fat boy gets two...

  • I think I just found a great replacement for my kitchen knives set. :D

  • O my lord...!!! I would go crazy if i had that sword and if zombies came... :))

  • @Advient0 play left 4 dead 2 there is a katana in the game

and u can kill many zombies as you want :D

  • i don't really like japanese swords all that much

  • @iamAwesomo1994

to bad because a katana is said to be the most effective sword ever created... light, nible and can still cut a man in half when proper.

  • Musashi reference FTW.

  • i will buy one dragonfly wakazashi its brutal

  • 2:57 hahahahahha poor pig xD

  • Dragon Twister!

  • wow he fights with two swords..

    fights what? rope? HAAHHA

  • LOL FAT GUY

  • orange rope gets striked again!

  • I'm a huge fan of fighting with two swords! HAHAHA

  • so i can cut somebody in half through the abdominal area?

  • @TCIstuff You could cut through two people in the abdominal area.

  • Thumbs up if you liked Lynn C. Thompson fighting with a Daisho combination!

  • 1. Why the HELL would you want to THROW your only weapon? Just saying it isn't a good idea.

    2. Not bad, considering that Japanese swords are curved to cut with an elliptical, slashing motion, and most of your guys were hacking at their targets like they were using an axe.

  • you don't stab with a katana

  • @PurpleRaam No, but you can very well

  • @PurpleRaam

It is more correct to say that in the traditional sense, one shouldn't stab with a katana, and it is likely that the makers at ColdSteel know this. I think the test was just to prove THAT it could.

  • the most overrated weapon in warrior history. Katana fails at the viking chainmail and plated armour and shields

  • @petezilla2k true, bbut the katana is being tested against the targets of its era, civil brawls and duels, o n the battlefied samurai had bayonee like spears, glaives, muskets and bows,
