My first castle siege involved about 2/3 of my men being shot down by Rhodok Crossbowmen before they were even up the ladders...ugh...

Though Nord Huskarls are the GODS of Castles, though. Huge shields to block arrows, great armor, and damaging weapons. They eat dismounted Swadian Knights for breakfast...

raise 100 best ranked infantries say them charge and you can defend any kind of castle. you ll barely have losses,maybe you can shoot down the archers or just watch:D

i have a army entirely made up of calvary

(mercenary calvary,horseman,caravan guard, knights from everywhere, kerghit people,etc)

it has 65 people (about) and it can fight other groups that contain 250+. i only lose about 10 men

actually rhodocks have the noobiest troops since on close combat spears deliver almost no damage and if you encounter some nord huscarls while on foot you better praise lol. also huscarls are the best at sieges since they are heavy armoured and can survive from a couple of arrows. and also do good damage. its all proven :)

the most hard to siege factions are rhodoks and nords and the most inapropriate are khergits

1.gather an army mixed with infantry and archers

2.go to a castle/town

3. besiege it

4.put all archers at bottom and infantry in front to act as a shield wall.

5.defend.

6.go to sleep as you win

against them you just NEED the cavalry advantage.

They are ingame, just like relentlesssinner said, when you are on a siege tower or ladder bodies can fall off. Ah, if i think back about the times i stood under an siege tower and saw my enemies fall lieke flies... and the times my men were... les fortunate.

yes you can own castles and towns without a lord but its hard its almost like being king of your own kingdom but you cant get other lords you have to rule everything by yourself

yea that is true when i took over a castle for nords the nord king said he wanted someone else ot have the castle and that made me mad cause i lost like almost all my men and it pissed me off so i took the castle for my own and i wasint with the nords no more and i accidenty saved it lmao..........and now its hard as hell going back and foward trying to protect your castles and shit

i always send infantry to hold position _inside_ castle, so they will not stand on top of ladders, but will go inside and let other to go inside to.

Then i set position to hold for archers, and for infantry new position on top of any stairs

Just get a long range weapon like a pole axe and own them from afar while your men keep them at bay, easy to win castles that way ;)

Man, how culd you be stupied enough to siege that casle? I mean; the game tells you how many soldiers they have, and to win a siege you need around 20-50 more soldiers more then the enemy, If you dont got a overpowered caracter. Nice moves tho!

Well, thats not true at all. You will hardly get the party of size as any castle garrison is. And if you have lots of high tier soldiers(as Swadian knights or segeants or sharpshooters), good main character, few companions with good equipment, then its really easy to besiege a castle and suceed, even the army is twice stronger.

If you RILLY wanna siege,keep your archers in shooting range,and have your infantry follow you up the ladder,wait half way up,hold for a bit,wait for some of them to die off,charge,boom.Dead.Castle is urs :)

Truly what you say variag62 but also the thing is that he should be the first one into the breach that would hold alot of casualities at bay...

You need to get past the bottleneck, and into the courtyard where you fall on the enemy from behind. Whilst in the castle, order something like "follow me" or "hold position" so your men actually try to get inside rather than just standing at the breach and getting massacred.
