After 23 years it was Fandi Ahmad back in Groningen. The "Pearl of Malaysia" was the big surprise of former FC Groningen at the open day of the FC. Fandi was taken to Groningen thanks to the efforts of Henk de Haan, who always kept in contact with Fandi. The 'Cruyff of the East "from 1983 to 1985 played for FC Groningen and reached its height with the 2-0 against Inter Milan. Fandi Ahmad is a true blue son of Singapore .Would be great if Fandi coach the Lions in it's comeback to Malaysia Cup.
