nah. that is not true gustavocla. look at hte female golf. the best player for years were coming from other countries. ochoa, sorenstam, korean golfers.

and look at male golf. ryder cup 4 of the last 5 were won by europe. i would say only 75 percent of the best players are americans in male golf.

Meh, I think Squash would've been a better choice, but it's nice to see Golf back into the Olympics. At least we got Rugby Sevens as well.

The Oympic spirit is (in my opinion) all about finding out who is the FASTEST, STRONGEST and ENDURING in all Sports.

I love Roller Speedskating and I think a lot of others will do too! So please give this small passionat sport a chance.... It will help us (that needs help) a lot more than it gives you guys....

Please look at this with a "free-mind" golf lovers...

I support Roller Speedskating for the Olympics and I think the deserve it a lot more than Golf (so sorry to say).

- First of all golf allready has a lot of compition, and I think that just like football this will end up having more prestige in the World Cup, World Tour, whatever than the Olympics.

- Second of all I think Golf will NOT fit for the "Olympic spirit".

golf in the olympics? I think golf already has several championships. Tiger couldn't think of a better sport to be in the olympic games because all he thinks about is golf. He must have not known about the six other sports up for consideration, Baseball, softball, rugby, squash, karate, and roller sports. Clearly out of all of these sports, and including golf, the best sport for election is squash. By far the most competitive and worldwide sport of them all, with no worldwide championship.

I personally think there should be a different format of playing golf in the Olympics, if they manage to get in. (not 72 holes stroke-play)

they could include match play format, it would be really exciting to watch the pros play the TEXAS SCRAMBLE format, or Greensomes.

I can't help thinking that everyone in this advert apart from Tiger & Jack Nicklaus have shot themselves in the foot. By wearing hats and shirts with sponsors logo's on them it shows exactly whats wrong with golf, golf and money are blood brothers. Considering how popular golf is across the world I hardly think it needs the exposure the Olympics will give it, the reason there's no golf in parts of the 3rd world is because people can barely afford to eat let alone play golf.

baseball is not popular outside America, only few countries would have teams ready to play baseball in the Olympics

@kuneckid05 Baseball is much more competitive than golf. In baseball you have also Cuba, Venezuela, Japan, Korea, Dominican Republic... all countries that could win a gold medal (if the pros are allowed to play). In golf 80% of the best players are Americans. But I don't support baseball in the Olympics neither if the MLB players are not allowed to play.
