Yes, i guess the 240 is considered a "sports" car, but when nissan imported them to the states they swapped the good motor for the crappy KA24DE which is the same 4cyl motor as the tiny hardbody pickup truck of the same era. so...in a sense, dont go trying to race some mexican w/one of these trucks in front of home depot, ya might get owned "lol"

The only reason why it does 0-60 in 7 seconds is b/c it's front wheel drive and you have to ease it down, otherwise it just burns rubber. My brother's '01 Conti which has 275 HP & 275 TQ ran a 14.82 @ 95.10 two weeks ago in the 1/4 mile... It's bone stock. The conti in this video is the 260 HP version. In '99 it went to 275 HP. Still, 7 seconds for a large 3,850 pound luxury sedan from the 90's isn't bad at all. Even the 260 HP version is more than fast enough for most owners.

It was only 40* out that day and the track was prepped perfectly. I have a motor trend article where it ran 15.1 at 94 mph with no traction. I was sticking up for your car man. @NiteflySA HAHAHAHAHAHA. try again. 1st the continental didn't have 275hp. it was a detuned 4.6DOHC, 2nd the Marauder has a 300hp 4.6 DOHC. the marauder's run low 15's. the cont. runs high 15's.

@svtlincoln Okay sweetheart, 275 hp is LESS that 300hp. hence "DETUNED" and from what I've read since, it was all in restrictive exhaust. The Continentals in fact DID have 275hp. Get help.

There was a reason the continental was a lower hp version of the DOHC 4.6 and that was the weak transaxle. and 275 is less than 300? No shit. Maybe you need to read above where in my comment i say and i quote " the continental was a DETUNED 4.6DOHC." The 1st gen 4.6 continentals 96-98 DID in fact have 260hp.

@svtlincoln i acutally have proof that continentals are high 14 sec cars because i have a 98 and at the drag strip and that runs 14.5 with a cold air intake.

plus the 98s for some reason shift at 6200 and the 99-02 shift at 5800.

@Acrom31Faulk28 and i have proof that from the factory they're high 15 sec cars. whoopty fuckin do.... i worked on the damn things for a few years. the continental was a DETUNED 4.6DOHC. it made 260hp, 20 horses less then the mark VIII yet according to your "proof" it's faster... how the fuck that happen? and i'd be willing to bet that cold air intake and even true cold air. post a vid or a time slip, or else hush. because 3800lbs, 260hp don't equal a 14.5 unless it's downhill.

MID 15 sec. the mark is a liittle faster in the 1/4 but not much. and the conti made 275 from 99-02. and thats factory "proof".

and the fact of the matter is, that a 2000+ conti with free flowing exhaust, proper intake, and good performance tune can pull a low 15 easy.

no problems but

the transmission got neutral dropped and now

shifts wierd sometimes.

the alternator has a bad berring and squeaks sometimes, other than that, nothing- its a great and solid car.
