I have so many chinese friends here. They told me that they want to take over Taiwan because of its strong economy and they feel proud of it. It was in fact opinion of most chinese I met here, not few. Even if you go to Pakistan which is full of terrorists, you see other religions like Hindus and Muslims surviving. If you go there and see their lives, they "appear" to be living happily. But in reality, they suffer. They are suppressed in poilitcs, none of them can ever be a leader or famous.

1) Show all good points of China with statistics
2) Show all bad things with statistics about China too but at the same time show how average Chinese is trying to remove those bad things

But I am not prepared to give up on achieving peace and humanity by peaceful and humanitarian means. I do not mean simply by peaceful protest, but by productive engagement, building bridges.

Western media is no better just controlled by corporations its still often propaganda trying to justify western actions. The truth is that if you want to find the real truth then you need to find as many points of view as possible. One of the best and most balance i think is Aljazeera, i grew up watching the BBC it is now a watered down propaganda machine, but far worse than is the American media thats a sicking twisted thing, a mix of lies/propaganda and hatred masked by 9/11 rabid delusions.

To summarize. There are both good and bad things in every country including China. Highlight both of them. Be proud of good things. Give solutions to solve bad things. If you only show good things, nobody believes you, they think you are already made up your mind that china is perfect and you wont try to change things that are bad. That way, the whole purpose of showing the real china is lost. Your important points will never reach others ears. Lets be friends!! :D

Yes. I am against any unnecessary war!! I was in favor of war against Afghanistan since the administration was indeed in troubles there. But I am against Iraq war since it is just a way to exploit resources and to gain popularity of their political party. Yes, and other powerful countries like China should oppose US from taking such selfish action. Example: Uganda - They could not have gotten freedom from evil dictator who killed millions if there was no foreign intervention,

I understand that the West has done so much to trample China. Look at the Opium Wars. Listen to the racist stereotypes.
However, that does not mean we can condone China's wrongdoings. Remember the Cultural Revolution, the 1989 demonstrations, and Falun Gong.

1) When Japan and western countries fucked you, you realised the pain and hence the importance of freedom. Then why still occupy Tibet?
2) When Taiwan is happy and prospering on their own, why China is so desperate to merge the two again??
3) Why for the sake of food you kill so many animals of various kinds including the rare species? Cant you satisfy hunger with veg and common cattle?
4) Why in the name of communism you suprress the minors and non-Hans?

Your answer to a question should not be a question itself. I criticize what americans did more than the chinese. They killed most of native americans. They bombed hiroshima and nagasaki with nuclear warheads. They have conquered Iraq for oil. Even big bad dictators like Musharaf, Ameen from Uganda and Saddam Hussein of Iraq were all created by America and Britain to control their resources. In other words, people here did lot more bad things!! But I criticize them in other contexts.

4) The communist party did suppress the minorities when it first took control of China, but that was the past, do you have any evidence that Chinese government is still suppressing the minorities now?? do you know that in China minorities has more rights than Han Chinese? i lived in China for 10 years, i know the truth, i had non-Hans frndz back thn, they were very happy the way they are, they are satisfied with the treatments Chinese government offers them

I have so many chinese friends here. They told me that they want to take over Taiwan because of its strong economy and they feel proud of it. It was in fact opinion of most chinese I met here, not few. Even if you go to Pakistan which is full of terrorists, you see other religions like Hindus and Muslims surviving. If you go there and see their lives, they "appear" to be living happily. But in reality, they suffer. They are suppressed in poilitcs, none of them can ever be a leader or famous.

As I said before, every country has both good and bad things. Same goes with China. To show people what real china is I suggest you do the following:
1) Show all good points of China with statistics
2) Show all bad things with statistics about China too but at the same time show how average Chinese is trying to remove those bad things
If you do only (1) your purpose of showing good side of China is lost because people who watch or read think you are already biased so you will defend only China.

These tibetan riots only taught the world one thing, it's that the western media (CNN, NBC, CBC, BBC,...) has biased itself beyong the point of no return. E.g the well is poisoned and it's no use trying to drink from there any longer.
The west glorifies the Dalai Lama and by association all tibetan monks. There is clear unfabricated video of tibetan monks injuring and killing people and the western media, and many westerners, blame the Chinese somehow. I can't fathom it, it's ludicrous.
